What we should do is trade our 3,546th round pick for Nash, Iginla, Heatley, Staal, and see if the Lightning will toss in Vinnie.

I like seeing all kinds of possible trades on here and discussing the merits and chances of them happening, but there is nothing here that even comes close to debate-worthy. Let's consider some basics before we post possible trades;

1. Age - no one is going to give us their young, talented stars for our 36-38 year old players.

2. Team expectations - no team in the hunt for the Cup this year and whom is expected to make it deep into the playoffs is going to trade their best Defensman or Forwards for prospects or picks.

3. Draft position - a team that finishes high in the standings will probably pick lower in the draft and vice versa, so a team that finishes low and is in rebuilding mode won't swap first round picks to "improve" their rebuilding efforts.

Heck if we're gonna throw all the rules and logic out the window then I want Kenny to make these moves tomorrow!

Wooley for Phaneuf

So let's put some thought into how silly these proposed trades look and try to post ones for discussion that could actually take place in the NHL, rather than just in my dreams.

I don't like any of the offered idea trades, but it's cool that your at least thinking in realms to help out the team.

Also, like someone else said earlier on the first trade, none of those teams would take those trade ideas.

Personally, I don't think that any moves are needed for the Wings right now.
