Guest Tombsy Report post Posted February 13, 2006 From Eklunds site... Eklunds "Another guy that could be moved is Shane Doan. According to sources there was a point earlier this year when it "Almost happened." Then it looked like he settled in, but now his name is popping up again...Phoenix and Gretzky love the guy, so it would take some real young talent to get him, but "he is not an untouchable." I'd say Hudler, Williams and a first. Could have a Shanny type of impact.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted February 13, 2006 I wouldn't want to make too big of a move for him, but he could fill the void for that needed depth on right wing. He's big, aggressive, and has good skill although he isn't displaying it as much this season. But as I said I wouldn't want to lose any valuable players, because our team's chemistry is already there.
Heaton 1 Report post Posted February 13, 2006 They'd want a top notch prospect for a guy like Doan, Williams and Hudler wouldn't really be interesting enough for them.
Seth 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2006 Hudler, Williams and a 1st? Seems like overpayment to me...now....Hudler+Williams+1st for Doan+Matthew Spiller+Randall Gelech
norrisnick 1 Report post Posted February 13, 2006 Hudler, Williams and a 1st? Seems like overpayment to me...now....Hudler+Williams+1st for Doan+Matthew Spiller+Randall Gelech Trade deadline sellers do not give up prospects. Only the buyers do. If you think the payment is too much, take some off from our end to balance. You don't add assets to the return. I think the value of that trade is about right, but I'm not so sure the types of players moving out would do the trick for a big horse like Doan. peace
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 13, 2006 A power play specialist and a unproven and undersized prospect who could have a decent future ahead of him probably won't net Phoenix's power forward captain. A 1st rounder might put it over the top, but you have to keep in mind that it would be a very late first rounder (25th or lower). I've gotta go with NN here. The players going to Phoenix are good, but not the right kind of good. They would nothing to replace the loss of Doan, for sure.
Henkka 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2006 Lang + Hudler for Doan. Next year: Samuelsson - Zetterberg - Doan Shanahan - Datsyuk - Grigorenko Holmström - Franzen - Williams Maltby - Draper - Cleary
fatcat6 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 I'd like Doan here, don't get me wrong on that, but we'd have to give up way to much in my opinion for him. But again, I don't think that any moves are needed right now for the Wings.
