Hey

I'm a Tigers fan who follows the team very closely and the Red Wings prospect Darren Helm.

Anyone have any question about Helmsie I'd be happy to answer them!

Ciao

Oh yeah, Helmsie can dish out the hits and take them. He isn't overly physical. He won't skate across the ice to nail someone, but then again, he won't shy away from doing it.

He has a very even temper. If he recieves a cheap hit, he won't usually retaliate. He has gotten into a few fights, but they aren't a usual part of his game.

It depends on what their coach wants him to do. If he needs to take a shot from the perimeter he will, but he aslo has the hands to be able to get into a high percentage scoring spot.

He can also stick handle his way around a whole team and get himself into a great position.

Joe Sakic has his signature wrist shot which he often scores on, or Brett hull with the big slapper. Judging from your vantage point, is he able to score kinda like those guys, or is he the type where he stays near the crease and gets goals through hard work and being relentless?

Again, its whatever is avaiable to him. He has a really nice wrist shot, hard and accurate. He is really working on having a more deceptive release on it, but it is still a great shot. He will also go into the corners and do the dirty work that is asked of him.

Last year he played a mainly defensive roll. He was a great grinder. This year with the loss of MacArthur, Lukin and Meyer he has really stepped up to be a scorer.

Last year most of his goals were from being a hard nosed relentless worker. This year he's using more of his skill.

He scored a nice one today, a wrist shot from the hashmarks in the Tigers 5-2 win over the SC Broncos in their first game of the playoffs.

Honestly, he reminds me of a player like Zach Parise. He has the talent, the heart, the leadership, the determination. He just needs the confidence and the chance.

He may need to add more muscle to his frame to survive in the NHL.
