J-Swift 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Here's Bob McKenzie's top thirty: Top 30 Draft Prospects RyanBarnes! suggested Nick Foligno, and TSN has him picked right around the 29th spot, so I don't think he'd be a bad choice at all. The ISS has him lower than that, 45th to be exact, but he seems to be a pretty tough player with some solid skills. I know the Hockey News has him pegged as more of a checking/energy-line kind of guy, but I think our lineup could use some of the enthusiasm he brings. Anyways, I've had my eye on Joe Ryan (he's in the "Honourable Mentions" section of the article) who played in the Quebec league last year. A lot of the scouting reports I've read have praised his ability to clear the front of the net, which is something I felt we lacked against the Oilers, and Ryan's also been described as being very mobile, which is a valued commodity for a defensive defenceman. The ISS scouting report also describes him as being a real team player, and I've always had a preference towards heart-and-soul kind of guys.

norrisnick 1 Report post Posted July 20, 2006 A sleuthing poster over at HFBoards unearthed a ton of little scouting clips from the CSB and two of our 2nd rounders were among them. Emmerton and Matthias. http://mfile.akamai.com/16532/wmv/nhl.down...mmerton_700.asx http://mfile.akamai.com/16532/wmv/nhl.down...atthias_700.asx A lot of circling around in the neutral zone but at least you can see them skate. Emmerton looks a bit more polished than Matthias in these clips. Apparently there could be more out there but a lot of our picks were completely off the boards. That and apparently there are misspellings (he found them by inserting the names into the URL of the initial videos he found, so he plugged in names he recognized from the draft list). I tried Axelsson and Mursak but got no luck.

norrisnick 1 Report post Posted July 20, 2006 What did you try? For me I either copy/paste into Windows Media Player or just clicking on them makes WinAmp pop up. Though could it be that you can't access it from overseas?
RyanBarnes! 293 Report post Posted July 20, 2006 What did you try? For me I either copy/paste into Windows Media Player or just clicking on them makes WinAmp pop up. Though could it be that you can't access it from overseas? Nevermind, must've been my settings or something. I tried it on another computer and it worked perfectly. Emmerton isn't exactly an intense player, is he? He looked almost disinterested at times. Oh, well it was just a clip. Thanks for the links!
