vadim 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 Unfortunately, living in NY and VA, I don't see any WHL, OHL, or QMJHL games, nor do I see NDTP, College, nor, obviously, European leagues, Hence, I have no idea about young players beyond what I read or hear about them from others. I think it would be a really helpful resource if those who do get to see some of these guys can write a bit about them beyond stats in preparation for the Entry Draft in which the Wings, yet again, have all their top round pics. Oh, and to start it off, what do you guys think about this kid -- Ryan Flynn of the U.S. NDTP. They aren't projected to go in the early rounds so we could possably pick them up with a 3rd pick, I liked the look of them both, maybe I just worded it wrong. Guest micah Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Two guys that I've had the pleasure of watching extensively in the USHL that the wings could snag are: Kyle Okposo - just kidding. Erid Gryba - Defence - 6'3", 215lbs This kid plays solid and looks composed everywhere. He mannaged over 200 penalty minutes, led the team in fighting majors, but never once played "goonishly". His game is solid everywhere. He'll be at Boston Collage next year. Phil Axtell - LW - 6'6", 240lbs Can be a bit of a wildcard, needs to calm down a bit, but his nasty disposition probably adds to his intimidation factor. He can't scate, but he lives to hit, and he mannaged 37 points in 47 games and an all-star selection, not too bad for the toughest kid in the league. His game is improving, and it will continue to at Michigan Tech. His attitude and temper are poor, but I expect the collage game will help with some of that. Mighty Wings 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 Patrick Berglund is the guy I think they should get. C 6'4 190, this is what the ISS had to say about him: Had a very good U-18 Championship in Sweden. Has a high hockey IQ. Very difficult to handle one on one. Very willing to take it to the net...Has a tremendous release and shoots the puck with authority...Handles the puck very well� Good stick skills� Exceptionally strong on his skates...Made tremendous improvements in his game throughout the year. I would go for Nick Foligno purely for the fact that there is not one prospect like him in the Wings organisation. Jesse Joensuu could be a Evan McGrath type pick. I did a little research on Foligno and he would be a good pick, he is a very in your face player and constantly yaps. He hits hard aswell and is not afraid to drive the net even after the whistle.
