I'll be interested in watching both the Wolverines and Spartans next year. Wolverines b/c they seem to have a lot of their guys back from this past season (correct me if I'm wrong), maybe they can get over that final hump. And the Spartans, to see if they can actually get past their usual mid-season choke-job.

Michigan is stacked with offensive talent coming back with Henne, Long, Manningham, and Hart. As for defense it's another story...huge questions for the secondary (possibly 2-4 freshmen starting next year), and LB depth. The D-line is loaded even though Branch and Woodley will be gone.

I think Dantonio is a solid coach. I think it will take 3-5 years though. State does not have much talent on the team right now, and isn't getting much due to a few very talented players (Nichol/Landinham) leaving because John L did. Also have to consider MSU has a handful of JUCO's on the team. JUCO's can be good for quick sucess, but it's not what you want when you're totally rebuilding a team like what Dantonio is trying to do.

Doesn't Dantonio coach the Phenoix Suns too? :P

Little off season trash talk ;)

We all know the Weasels like to brag about being the winningest program in college football, right? Well just how did the get all those wins? I got this off another site I frequent.

16 of those wins (and, one loss!) are against Albion College.

3 of those wins are against Beloit College of Wisconsin.

5 of those wins are against Kalamazoo College.

7 of those wins are against Mount Union College of Ohio.

26 of those wins are against Case Institute of Technology in Ohio.

3 of those wins are against DePauw.

6 of those wins are against Eastern Michigan.

9 of those wins are against Oberlin College.

2 of those wins are against the Illinois College of Physicians and Surgeons.

2 of those wins are against the Windsor Club of Canada.

2 of those wins are against Ohio Wesleyan.

2 of those wins are against the Michigan Military Academy.

3 of those wins are against Ohio Northern.

2 of those wins are against Wittenberg College of Ohio.

2 of those wins are against Olivet College.

5 of those wins are against the Detroit Athletic Club.

2 of those wins are against the Great Lakes Naval Training Station.

2 of those wins are against Hillsdale College.

And, the Champions Of The West count a win each against:

Adelbert College of Ohio

Adrian College

American Medical of Illinois

Ann Arbor High School

Butler

Camp Grant

Carroll College of Wisconsin

Chicago Harvard Club

Chicago University Club (not to be confused with the University of Chicago, a charter member of the Big Ten)

Denison College of Ohio

Detroit Industrial Team

Ferris State

Grand Rapids High School

Iowa Navy Pre-Flight

Kenyon College of Ohio

Lake Forest College of Illinois

Lake Forest/Rush Medical of Illinois

Lawrence College of Wisconsin

Peninsular Club of Michigan

Quantico Marines

Racine College of Wisconsin

University of Toronto

Wabash College of Indiana.

Leaders and the best, my ass ;)

Decide to talk a little trash now that you got the Pizza Man coachign eh? The thing I find most funny is MSU played most those teams too back in the early 1900's, yet are not even close to U-M in all time wins.

U-M: Most wins all time, most Big 10 titles, 11 national championships, 3 Heisman winners

And the stat you should be most familar with: 65-28-5

Oh yeah, MSU has played some dumb schools as well.

But we do have a 4-0 record against the Michigan School for the Deaf ;) I bet it's easy to audible plays against them.

OK...that was probably uncalled for.

I don't know about others, but I thought it was called for. I was laughing out loud :D

1. Take away all those wins, and Michigan still has about 150 more wins than MSU.

2. It's true that Michigan State has not padded its win total against Lake Forest College of Illinois. This is not for lack of trying, however ;)

3. I don't think Michigan has played Albion 17 times. They don't show up nearly that often on the site I looked at. (d1afootball.com) It also shows no losses to Albion. Michigan State, however......let's just say that even if Michigan did lose to Albion at some point, at least we have scored points in every game against them. Unlike our rivals from East Lansing.

College Football Data Warehouse has Michigan with a 16-1 record against Albion

http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_i...n/opponents.php

Look at that 6-12 record against Cornell, ouch!

Hey Cornell was the USC of that era :P

Heres their records against every team. They have played Albion 17 times (16-1)

Thank goodness U-M is 1-0 vs American Medical..whoever that is

Anyone else see that Carr changed his contract? This very well could be Carr's last season. Coaching ideas anyone? I know U-M likes to keep "Michigan Men" but the only possible canidates are QB coach Scott Loeffler and Ron English. I would bet U-M takes hard looks at Les Miles, Cam Cameron, and Kirk Ferentz

Take away all of those wins, and Michigan has over 730 wins--only 8 teams have as many or more. Take away all the comparable level opponents for those teams, and Michigan is still well in front of the others.

Didn't Cam Cameron just get hired somewhere?

Yep, new Dolphins head coach. Stupid move for the Dolphins if you ask me!

Didn't Cam Cameron used to coach Indiana and completely suck at it? IU was horrible during the Cameron years. Why would we want him?

I think I'd like the replacement to be English, personally.

It should be me--I'd run Transcontintental every down cause that play is teh bom!1!1!1!!

Yes, but you have to take in consideration that it's Indiana. Cameron had a great offense with the Chargers the last few years.

Yeah but that could easily be a case of good coordinator/bad head coach. I bet Cameron sucks at Miami.

Cameron had friggin' LaDanian Tomlinson and Drew Brees, who proved his worth by leading the Saints this year. Cameron having bad teams at IU proves this: he can't recruit, and he couldn't take advantage of the one really good player he did have, Antwaan Randle El.

No one can recruit at Indiana. The last person to recruit at IU well was probably Lee Corso, but you're right it's way easier to coach with LT, and Brees. Remember though Cameron developed Brees (who wasn't drafted high), and SD didn't lose a beat when Rivers stepped in. Cameron isn't my first choice...it's just a possible option since he has U-M ties. If he does well at Miami (big if) he will probably be a hot canidate. If Ron English can make great defense again with by far less talent then last season he will be my first canidate. After English my choices are Kirk Ferentz, and Scott Loeffler (if he does a good OC job for U-M next season)
