stevie for president 42 Report post Posted February 11, 2007 at least it makes more sense than the thornton trade. What is Boston thinking? They finally rebuild and then lose their three best players (Thornton, Raycroft, and Samsonov), and now instead of trying to rebuild or trade for talent, they trade away a draft pick and on top of that get the worse end of the trade. I understand stuart and primeau are ufas, but it would make more sense to trade for picks or prospects. I dont get it.
Airborn 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Apparently, this deal gets even better for the Flames. If they are unable to sign Stuart to a deal, Boston will surrender its 2008 1st round draft pick to Calgary. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...324/1004/SPORTS Did Chiarelli go to the Mike Keenan school of trading in the offseason or something? Isn't the whole point of dumping players to pick up draft picks?
