SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 11, 2007 I was skimming through the local paper down here a while ago and my eyebrows raised on a few things, (1) some dude from a local college here had 40 points in a hoops game last night, and more relevant here (2) that Los Angeles beat the Predators last night. Just goes to show you that no matter how high your team might be in the standings, you don't take the teams that struggle seriously and play around the top of your game, there's a good chance you will be beaten. Also, Wings need to take advantage of Nashville's unexpected goof now! Get at least 3 of 4 points in tonight/tomorrow's games.

Donaldjr2448 43 Report post Posted February 11, 2007 I wouldn't be too worried about Nashville, because if they run into a team that playes Defense, then they will be swept. They rely on speed and transition and I think if they play Calgary, San Jose, Vancouver and even Detroit,I don't think Nashville can compete in a seven game series. But that is just my opionion. Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 11, 2007 Aye! I'll get right on it! Note: Is anyone bashing Nashville for losing to L.A.? No. Us for losing to the Blues? Yes. F*** off!
FinWing 26 Report post Posted February 11, 2007 Los Angeles beat the Predators last night. Even a blind dog finds a bone every once in a while. Just kidding. It's a nightmare to bet on NHL games these days, there's just no telling who's gonna beat whom. Differences are very small.

It's a nightmare to bet on NHL games these days, there's just no telling who's gonna beat whom. Differences are very small. That's true. Though there have been occasions (like last night) where I called Philly to pull off a win, and they did it (over St. Louis, but still). So you never really know what's going to happen. Hate to say it, but Cloutier's injury is one of the better things that could've happened to the Kings. In the 8 games Burke has played for the Kings, he's posted a .932 sv % and a 2.17 GAA. Those numbers probably won't hold for the rest of the season, but they beat the hell out of what was happening with Cloutier in net. Getting rid of Avery couldn't have hurt the lockerroom either. Not to mention that their defense is stronger... and they say they're rebuilding, so adding prospects was a good move. But Avery's finding a home in New York, and has had a good couple of games so far.
Rice 42 Report post Posted February 11, 2007 The Kings have assembled a very impressive core with O'Sullivan, Kopitar, Frolov, and Johnson. I can't beleive that idiot Mike Keenan took Bertuzzi over the supposed Brown, Frolov, and Garon package LA was offering. Frolov is a stud and Brown is promising. Bertuzzi is a free agent. In New York there's plenty of vets to help him keep his mouth shut.

Well, I'm no math whiz, but when you have the most points in the league (Buffalo actually has 80 to Nashville's 79 now), that kinda means you are the best team in the league and get the highest seed in the playoffs. Hence me saying Nashville was best in the league at that point in time. I've been called a dumb f**k more than once in life though so I dunno, guess it must be all the alcohol talking right now.... YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Man, Im getting reaaallly worried about Nashville now. With them adding Vishnevski their defense gets stronger and more physical. Now I hear theyre trying to add Forsberg before the deadline. That scares the crap out of me knowing that the Preds are as good as they are and might get even sicker with Vishnevski and Forsberg.
