Feldmarschall 9 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 GMs must really not have any faith whatsoever in this upcoming draft, people are tossing picks around like candy.

FinWing 26 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Is Rivet really worth a first rounder? Just about every player seems to warrant a first-rounder this time around.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Is this years draft really that bad? I've heard rumors that it's probably not going to be as good as some past drafts, but this is rediculous. I've never seen so many first round picks being thrown around from team to team like this. And by the way, Rivet is not that good. So don't say we should have gotten him. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 And by the way, Rivet is not that good. So don't say we should have gotten him. WHAT? I've heard him refered to as a Lids that doesn't score or have a respectible +/-. That's just what we need on this team!
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 I thought the Sharks were going after Souray Gainey was never going to trade Souray with the Habs still in the playoff race.

Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 (edited) This isn't good for us... Pred's overpaid for Forsberg Atlanta overpaid for Tkachuk San Jose overpaid for Rivet Price for Guerin will be even more than for Tkachuk (two 1st round draft picks = Anaheim???) Less than 2 days... Barrie 900 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 How can Carter go for a 5th rounder, and Rivet a 1st and a player? I hope Kenny doesn't make any moves, it's not worth it. I say we take our chances with who we have now, then add in the off season.
Guest Tunbo Batman Report post Posted February 26, 2007 The Montreal Canadiens : a fine tradition of dealing away veterans at the worst possible time, for draft picks that will later be wasted on the likes of Ron Hainsey. No wonder they are so uninteresting as a whole : they have no core and no heart. Tradin away the captain's best friend and one of the team"s better defencemen right before the last stretch to make the playoffs? GO GAINEY!

Tradin away the captain's best friend and one of the team"s better defencemen right before the last stretch to make the playoffs? GO GAINEY! Ron Hainsey has become a decent defensemen in Columbus. If Montreal wouldn't have waived and re-waived him so much (bad management), he probably would have played fine there.
