Oh man. I don't want to rush Bert into the lineup, but March 17th the Wings are in Vancouver, that is 3 weeks and 3 days away. I hope Bert could play that game and record some points. Would be a sweet game.

Doesn't sound like I missed much........ this reminds of the commercial where the guy gets traded to all the teams and keeps repeating the same lines but eventually starts forgetting the city name.

i bet you were cheering mac on when he was pounding claude....and don't give the "but that was different"...mac came from the side and punched him in the face with his gloves on and then cominced the ass whooping after claude turtled up....so save your "good conscience" ....

Excellent point. The initial punches in both cases were pretty similar. Except one's a hero to us and the other is hated across the league. The crucial difference is in what happened right after the punch, just because Bert had a hold of Steve Moore and fell right on him. The injury occured when Moore hit the ice, and to act like Bert had any intention of hurting him like that is insane. In fact, as was pointed out, Mac was able to continue his aggression after Lemieux had basically given up and turtled--it was actually a more egregious action in pretty much every way except the end result.

If you want a silver lining, remember that the Bert incident was in response to a cheap shot on Naslund. We could use some of that, without the unfortunate accident part of course.

exactly...the injury to moore probably happened when the other 4 avs jumped on top of bertuzzi....virtually crushing him....

The cap is projected to go up to $47-$48 million. If that happens, the Wings have a legitimate shot of retaining them both.

That coupled with Lang either being offered a reduced salary because of this season or walking.
