It hurts the Wings' chances at winning the Central, but for the long haul it could be a blessing in disguise. Nobody is going to be asked to do more in the playoffs than Zetterberg. If he can get healthy, the time off might do him good and freshen him up for the postseason.

This is the type of adversity we had almost none of last season. It sucks, but it's good for the team.

i'm just kinda afraid he'll go cold sitting out for 3 weeks. I mean, the worst thing to do is take a player out when he's on a roll.

I would really love to see how we stack up against them in full force (including Bertuzzi).

I actually dont think this is a bad thing at all...let them play our skeleton crew team and frankly i dont want the presidents trophy or to win the west...it seems like bad luck for us when we do....let someone else go in as the "favorite"

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public --T. Roosevelt

it wasn't bad luck in 2002.

Let's all just try and relax.. ::breathe in....and out::

As long as he's 100% before the playoffs then that's all that matters. GET BETTER HANK!

Yeah, well guess what! It's a herniated disk so there are no guarantees he'll be back without surgury, in which case kiss the playoffs good bye.

Are you kidding? Block you? And miss watching you stumble around the forum looking for an argument like a dog sniffing butts? It would be like turning off a bad episode of Jerry Springer. You know you shouldn't be watching, but you just... can't... help... it...

Gives him an oppertunity to rest his wrist too I guess. Better now than in the playoffs.

I assume Filppula will stay on the 1st line, which is great for him!

This sucks donkey balls but it could be worse. Hank will get some rest and Fil and Hudler will get more ice time, better preparing them for the playoffs.

An inflamed disk will heal with rest whereas a herniated disk doesn't always. I know...I've had both. And just ask Bert.

Look what our mediocre players did last night....however hopefully this isn't a sign of our past few years. It seems we always have a star player injured for 3 weeks right before playoff time......Datsyuk?

Obligatory: This sucks.

Long-term (which is a short couple weeks...): We'll be limping in and around Nashville, it seems like. Anything can still happen with this line up, but if we do drop the ball against the Preds, let this be the first, "Don't Panic, We're Still in the Playoffs and We're Healthier Than Ever" post.

We'll have to buckle down and play smart hockey. Lang will have to get up off his duff.

Awww, I feel really bad for Hank. Any chance at a Hart run is gone now sad.gif

I'm spinning this really hard...but.... tongue.gif

On the plus side, more minutes for Hudler and Flipper?

Hopefully if it is only about 2 weeks, he should only miss a max of about 4-5 games. I'm being VERY positive here.

Get well soon Zetterberg!

the biggest reason this hurts is those 3 games against Nashville in the next 14 days. i don't know about the rest of you guys but if we finish 4th more than likely we'll have to meet San Jose first round and that us the number one team i don't want to see in the playoffs.
