Legionnaire11 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 Kariya whiffed on the shot anyway, if he had gotten all of that shot it would have went in. Still a good save, but not the greatest thing ever.
bringback91 2 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 Kariya whiffed on the shot anyway, if he had gotten all of that shot it would have went in. Still a good save, but not the greatest thing ever. Way to down play it, 1.5 sec. left in O.T. That was a great save, and far from a whiff by Pauly.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 2, 2007 Nice save that was made to look even more impressive by him twisting and turning and sprawling on the ice. I have seen better. LOL, you said it correctly. I completely agree. It was just a glove save; the guy didn't need to launch himself into a 90 degree spin from the legs in order to make it. Way to down play it, 1.5 sec. left in O.T. That was a great save, and far from a whiff by Pauly. In retrospect, I wish he'd made it. It would have been bad enough for either the Preds or the Sharks to get points, but for both to get them just hurts.
shadow47 1 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 I usually criticize people who say exactly what I am about to say, but if Nabokov hadn't slid into the stack (and instead had slid across semi-upright), that shot probably would've hit him in the chest (or flew over his shoulder and in). Not saying it was not an excellent play by Nabby, or that the stack wasn't the right move to make, but I guess I'm just measuring the quality of the save on the difficulty of the shot. It was a great looking save, but certainly not the "greatest save I've ever seen" (did Randy Hahn say something like that ). Pretty sure The Dom/Brodeur/et al have made saves like that repeatedly. Zetter is Better 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2007 I didn't find it so impressive. I agree, Nabokov over exadurated that saved soooooooo much. The puck was in his glove as he started to go down.
