Heaton 1 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 Maybe so.....but the people who constantly gripe about the same crap since game one of the season are the most annoying. I don't see the point in posting the same thing over and over again. Me neither, so why do you guys continue to make the in your face Datsyuk is having another great regular season, he's worth 6m/yr posts?

When did i do that? The most I've done is dispute the fact that people try to state of your paycheck is in direct corralation to playoff performance. Just not the case. Never did a "ha-ha, look how good dats is i told you so" and I never will. That's something ya'll will realize on your own.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 This sounds like good news, I have my fingers crossed. Oh and KP why don't you show me something in the playoffs, shooting your mouth off about a player that has a 5 game point streak going. I love how everyone is a coach on here. Yes he needs to bring his game in the post season but that is no excuse for people to come on here and act like they are the ones signing the checks and running the team. He'll be signed or not signed according to Ken Hollands judgement, it doesen't matter what he shows YOU in the playoffs KP. your a fan sit back and watch Well, if we all decided to follow these guidelines, we might as well just shut down this site as we would have nothing to talk about. I believe you also made a quote about not being able to judge a player since they are better at something than you are. Firstly, that is not necessarily true, but assuming it is, yes, they are better, but does that mean they are worthy of "x" million dollars? I think a lot of people are very qualified to comment on whether or not they think someone is worth a certain dollar amount, regardless of how much better that player is then the particular poster. bringback91 2 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 (edited) "Regardless of how poorly he might do in the playoffs, I'm not sure the Wings even get there without Datsyuk. You need someone to score goals in the regular season, too. Between him and Zetterberg, the Wings can expect to win most nights. The playoff failures of Datsyuk partly owe to his style, but they're not helped by the team's one dimensional hockey style. If they had a few more bangers and put a decent power forward on his line, he might have a little more room to make plays. Personally, I would like to see how he plays with Zetterberg and Homer in a playoff series. But regardless, even if he sucks again in the playoffs, he's essential to their offense over the course of 82 games. I say keep him, regardless. I think the Wings can improve their goal scoring without necessarily adding pure goal scorers. Just add a little versatility to the roster. " ^^ I like BlueMonk's take on the situation, it's a smart anaylisis, and it's not in one camp or the other. I was just painting you with the same brush as everyone else. Not sure if you do it specifically. Don't really care if you do. It's all good. Not specifically I don't do it to anyone, unless your one of those posters who do what I stated, then I could see how you'd take it that way. It's not exactly like I was saying something like "all people from the south are rednecks". Edited March 9, 2007 by bringback91
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 or alexander ovechkin, trust me, he's like a god in these parts Haha, I knew I'd regret not putting his name there too! Honestly, I'm a bigger fan of Alex then Sid anyway!
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 I think the only ways he gets over 4.5 is if he does VERY well in the playoffs. Him being paid more than Hank is a little weird if his playoff streak continues.

Him being paid more than Hank is a little weird if his playoff streak continues. Sorry, but there will be many GMs willing to pay Datsyuk way over 5 mil. Even if he scores 0pts in this year's playoffs. To think otherwise is to delude oneself.
Stevie Y 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 Prolly no wings fan will deny the fact that Pavel is a stand out player in the regular season. The problem is that some here think that he wiill show up in this year's play offs while others have their doubts. Since a lot of posts here have the message "pavel has another great season, hopefully we can sign him" it is only logic that those ppl that are concerned about his play off performance will restate their opinion about that. It IS an old story but why should those ppl change their opinion? The play offs haven't started yet therefore Pavel couldn't prove us wrong yet... One more thing: I think everybody hopes that Pavel has an outstanding play off year. If you are a wings fan you want your team to do well, especially your star players. Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted March 10, 2007 Sorry, but there will be many GMs willing to pay Datsyuk way over 5 mil. Even if he scores 0pts in this year's playoffs. To think otherwise is to delude oneself. You are absolutely right! When fans from other teams hear about some Wings fans complaining about Datsyuk they think we are totally insance and/or spoiled beyond belief. He is not the only one on the Wings who has to prove himself in the playoffs, but I myself think it is silly to think of Datsyuk's past playoff performance without considering coaching (Lewis was awful in the post season), zero grit line mates (floating Brett Hull for one), clutching and grabbing, injuries (last year's injury was significant yet Pavel came back to play before anyone expected him to) bone headed plays (Williams' penatly in Oilers game 6), lousy whiney goalies (Manny) and confusion about just who was leading the team (was it no show in the post season Shanny and Stevie the hero or the young guys time?). Still, witth all that some people expected Datsyuk to have taken the mantle of leadership and all alone come through to score a hattrick every game or something. My point, is it is not a black and white call. Things are much different and I think better this year. The WIngs are learning how to play scrappy and deep and Pavel is looking more and more like he is taking control out there. With Hank or without his playmaking and scoring are amazing the last half of this season. He is almost always the player who makes a goal happen out there in one way or another. He is truly coming in to his own and I am really looking forward to watching him in the post season this year.
