Inultus 12 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Good article. Over half of my career goals are deflections, so I'm considered the Holmstrom of my team and I'll be the first to say that it's not easy, in fact sometimes it gets a bit scary when you have a guy slashing you and then at the same time you have a puck whizzing right at your nuts. I can only imagine. Literally, being a female. You have my admiration for being the demolition man for your team, as Homer is for us.
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Smyth certainly thinks highly of himself. Homer is clearly the best at it, blocking the view and tipping the puck, while Smyth is the better all-around player who, as a bonus, can tip pucks in.
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Neat article - thanks! I could not help but think of Homers tip on Roy in the Game 7 conference finals in 2002. It was the first goal of that 7-0 blowout and it was beautiful. Remember? Man, we really are lucky to have this guy. It's nice to stop and think about this specialty of his. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 Geez! When I saw the thread title I thought that Homer took up cow tipping as a second hobby! Good thing he just plays hockey.

Was that the one where Homer was completely parallel to the ice, suspended in mid-air, with only the blade of his stick touching the ice? Phenomenal. Roy never had a chance! I have many fond memories/ images from that WCF vs. the Avs.
