cr00d 26 Report post Posted March 22, 2007 The Wings didn't lose the last two games because they got called for more penalties. They lost because they scored a grand total of two goals. They're not going to win many games that way. They scored a grand total of two goals becasue they were in the penalty box for most of the game. Tough to score when shorthanded. Then perhaps they should be more disciplined. Sure, they might have had a bad call here or there but most of the penalties they took were warrented. And from how they played in the past 2 games, they could have had 0 penalties and still only scored 2 combined goals. They were classic playoff-type games where both Vancouver and Calgary employed a proven strategy to beating the Wings. A strategy the Wings have yet to resolve in 3+ years. Get ready to see a lot more of that in April.

Icer 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2007 They had a lot of penalty minutes against Vancouver. I'll give you that much. But there was a grand total of 10 minutes in penalties against Calgary, none in the third period. I would hardly call that spending all night in the box. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 22, 2007 Some of it is undisciplined play, but let's not kid ourselves, the officiating has been lopsided in these games. I'm not surprised with what happened in Western Canada. That's a house of horrors for visiting teams. It happened to Nashville last night. The officiating is biased. It's just the way it is. It's not just against Detroit. The Nashville series was the strange one. The Wings didn't even get the home cooking in their own arena during that home and home. But the Wings get their share of favorable calls too, it's just that nobody starts threads about it when they do. It's just been Detroit's turn in the barrel this past 5 games or so.
