Filp will most likely be sent down. Face the facts you guys, Filp can be sent down to the minors and no one else can. Wasnt Filp put on the Griffins playoff roster anyways?

Now that I think about it, doesnt the AHL playoffs end before NHL's? It would probably still be Filp/Rex, anyways. I can only think of one "regular" being sat this whole season(Williams) and don't see anyone playing as bad as he was.

Yeah Flip was on the GR playoffs offer.

I hate to say it, but I agree. Filppula will be sent down to the minors and Sammy :puke: will be in.

I call you on crack if you think that Flip will be sent down.

Nobody needs be sent down at this point of the season. Anyone who does not play will be scratched. This is how things are after the trade deadline.

Watch more hockey.

EDIT: Let's look at this train of thought a bit further. Imagine that you are a coach. You have a young centerman who has proven himself many times over. He can playmake, hit, shoot, you name it. He has been so good that you've promoted him to the first line in Zetterberg's absence. Now, you have a choice: keep this talented youngster for the playoffs, where he certainly will do a world of good, or send him down to the AHL because he's the only one who can freely go and you need to make room for a winger who has been playing hideous hockey all year. Oh, and you'll be getting rid of one of your dedicated centers if you do that.

I think you know which choice you'd make. Flip will not be scratched. It does not matter if he could play in the AHL playoffs. I do not believe for a moment that you are dumb enough to think that the AHL playoffs carry a drop in the bucket's importance to the Red Wings management as compared to the quest for the Cup.

Gimme a break.

I guess he's trying to interpret/assume that if Flipper gets sent down, there's no chance of claiming him off waivers, as opposed to Rex, or they can't send Rex down anymore for some reason.

In ny case, the Wings won a big game last night, you have no logical reason whatsoever to be yelling at people for the 100th time because of a loss or panic attack posts, so save the atittude.

Maltby should not and will not sit out. He's always been known to step it up in the playoffs. Having an agitating player like him to get under the opponents skin is what the Wings need. Plus he's great in those pressure situations and well we all know he's marvelous on the PK as usual. I don't care that he isn't great in the season. He's a playoff performer and that's where he shines at most. The Kirk Maltby that we always see in the post season is the Maltby that all of us loved and thought was great in the late 90's. You're going to want energy guys like him, drapes, cleary..etc to start the game off or get the momentum to shift the Wings way when need be.

I really think Sammy needs to sit because Huds and Flip have played too damn good and have earned their spots, imo.
