BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 They were talking about this on XM 204 today. Any of the Predators fans know what exactly he did? None of the callers today had any idea.
Guest Agalloch Report post Posted April 7, 2007 (edited) Went up to their bench and gave them the middle finger. EDIT: I'm not a Preds fan btw. Never, ever, put me in that category. Edited April 7, 2007 by Agalloch
akustyk 84 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Went up to their bench and gave them the middle finger. but... isn't showing your middle finger a part of tough game? and it's Blues fans because they should not be "charging" at Hartnell from the bench when he skated up there? I mean... seriously... Trotz admitted to see something wrong in his players` behavior like Barry does in fact see his goons are no angels? what? did I miss something, or did he get real at last? Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 and some people on this board want this guy on our team,.... It's a double-edged sword. From a player standpoint, Hartnell would bring the perfect combination of size, skill, scoring, and toughness. Add him on a line with Bert, and that's pretty deadly. From a person standpoint however, Hartnell is a dick, and I personally don't think he'll be able to get along with anyone in the Wings dressing room. I don't think anyone in Nashville, with the exception of Tootoo, even cares for Hartnell all that much. So obviously that could pose a problem.
arin 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Wow, you guys act like little girls. They're adult hockey players. Wow, a middle finger. I'm sure the Blues werent too offended and wont lose too much sleep. Good thing the Wings never have a relatively tough or mean player on their team ever - you guys wouldnt be able to take that.
JKEITH81 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 No one is going to lose sleep over him giving the bird. The point is it shows he has no class. In the old days, you'd never see that. It just goes to show that he has no respect for the game or the players playing the game.

Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 (edited) I think that st. louis needs to take a page outta Fischer's book titled 'How to deal with Scott Hartnell' < Edited April 7, 2007 by Elshupacabra

It just goes to show that he has no respect for the game or the players playing the game. youd never see something like that in the old days? more like, in the old days, you could only watch one or two games a week on television from your local team without as many camera angles and there was no internet to post stuff like this on and turn one small little action into the worlds biggest travesty in 24 hours. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 I didn't think it was possible to hate the guy anymore than I already do and as much of a big deal that a middle finger is NOT he is just f-ing pathetic.
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 everyone here acts like they never gave the finger, I mean really who gives a s***. If anything the only reason you care is because it wasn't a wing, I'm actually happy things like this happen because it gives you more reasons to dislike teams and creates more DRAMA to the game. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 What surprised me was the discussion on XM 204. They were saying that Trotz said after the game that if Hartnell does it again, he's gone. I took "gone" to mean, no longer with the team. I was a little surprised the coach would make a statement like that.

Well, the Preds haven't exactly been a PR boon for players and actions of good will recently, (TooToo and the Modano debacle), Trotz probably felt like he had to say something. Legionnaire11 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 it's been rumored that Trotz and Hartnell haven't ever really gotten along. Mostly because of things like this, stupid penalties. But he's a good guy other than that. He's got a weekly radio show and seems to really like Nashville. And at a time when the Preds have been so lazy, uninspired and not emotionally invested in the games over the past month... I don't find much to be disappointed about with Hartnell. He was coming back from injury, trying to change the team's recent luck and for anyone who didn't watch the game, the Blues were a little too aggressive. The game meant absolutely nothing to st. louis, and very little to the preds, but the blues were out there gooning things up. Just before hartnell told them they were #1, one of the blues took a blatant whack at Forsberg's ankle.
