redwinger4747 6 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Not too long ago, we were discussing why Modano lost the captaincy in Dallas and I began to wonder: Why did Gordie Howe lose it in 1962? Succeeding Red Kelly, he was captain for 4 years before Delvecchio took over and served for the next 12 years, with Howe still on the team. Anyone know why Delvecchio took over for Howe back then?
