MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 If the Islanders win tomorrow, Ted Nolan gets the Jack Adams. Getting that sideshow into the playoffs is one hell of a coaching performance.

Teemu Selanne doesnt belong in Selke talk. Zetterberg, Pahlsson, Lehtinen, Draper, and Brind'amour are the frontrunners right now. Langkow is the darkhorse. I have a hard time picking coaches... Art Ross: Vinny Lecavalier Dom won't win the Vezina since he hasn't played every game this season, but he will win the Conn Smythe this time. I'm not sure either of Datsyuk or Zetterberg will win, I definately do not think both will, maybe one or the other. I'm also not sure about Nolan, he may win, but I disagree with it....he's a goon coach. I think Therian should be given consideration, even though I do not think he's that great of a coach. Art Ross: Vinny Lecavalier Dom won't win the Vezina since he hasn't played every game this season, but he will win the Conn Smythe this time. Crosby already clinched the Art Ross....could you be referring to the Richard? Dom not playing all games this year has nothing to do with him not winning the Vezina. Ooops, you're right about the Ross. Richard is most goals, right? Yeah. Vinny, then. BTW, I think Dom's limited workload did effect a Vezina bid. Dom played 22 fewer games than Brodeur this season and 19 fewer than Luongo. Proportionately, Hasek won more games, 67.8% (won 38 of 56). Brodeur and Luongo each won 61.5 and 61.3 respectively. Had Hasek played more games, it's hard to say what would have happened - just speculation at this point. I've never subscribed to the idea that he couldn't carry the workload, but that's water under the bridge, too. Both top contenders have higher GAAs than Dom, and the "league leader" Backstrom, won just over 50% of the games he played. I like win percentage as an indicator, myself. Too bad Dom won't be considered for Vezina, since 7 would have tied him with the great Jacques Plante. Edit: Dom only needed three more wins to match his own career high, 41 wins, with the Wings in 2002. Edited April 8, 2007 by puckloo39

Pearson - Crosby Masterton - Hasek Lester Patrick - Mario Lemieux Lady Byng - Sakic or St. Louis King Clancy - I'll say Yzerman, not sure he'll qualify though, probably next year Jennings - Bryzgalov EVA ???? - would appreciate your input on the ones I named but you didn't !! BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Runner-ups in brackets. Hart - Crosby (Brodeur, Luongo) Vezina - Brodeur (Luongo, Kipper) Byng - St. Louis (Datsyuk, D. Sedin) Selke - This is kind of a shot in the dark, but Langkow (Zetterberg, Lehtinen) Calder - Malkin (Staal, Stastny) Norris - Lidstrom (Niedermeyer, Pronger) Adams - Nolan
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Art Ross - Crosby Pearson - Crosby Masterton - Hasek Lester Patrick - Mario Lemieux King Clancy - I'll say Yzerman, not sure he'll qualify though, probably next year Jennings - Bryzgalov EVA ???? - would appreciate your input on the ones I named but you didn't !! Pearson--Crosby likely. According to the THN player poll recently, he was a landslide choice as best player, and that should be a good indicator he will win the Pearson. Masterton--Hasek is seriously unlikely. Kessel is my pick. Lester Patrick--Lemieux has already won this, and it's a career honor type thing--someone who has done a great service to hockey in the US, usually as a long serving coach or GM who does well for an American team (Arbour, Bowman) or a great player for an American team (Yzerman, Lemieux) so a second win would be silly. I'm going to pick Mike Modano as one of the winners this year. Clancy--Yzerman is retired. The Clancy is awarded to players, not former players. This one is hard to pick, because it's hard to know what kind of humanitarian activities all players are involved in. My choice would be, for lack of a better candidate who hasn't already won (there has never been a repeat winner) Jir iFischer for his work regarding heart conditions and working to help minor and youth league arenas have the same kind of emergency capabilities that saved his life. Jennings--This trophy is to the goalie or goalies who played 25 or more games for the team tha tallowed the fewest goals in the regular season--what the Vezina was for years between around 1970 and 1983. This trophy is already the property of Minnesota's tandem of Manny Fernandez and Niklas Backstrom.

J-Swift 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Looks pretty good but Dom doesnt have a chance I think there's a chance Dom might make it as one of the three nominees, but I think most of us would agree that it's a two horse race between Luongo and Brodeur for the Vezina. Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 That will never happen with him on the same team as Malkin and playing significantly more than Staal. Staal probably won't even be top-two. Right. Malkin, Stastny, Staal is how it will likely shake down. Kopitar ought to get some love there, but I have a feeling the Staal hype will motor him to third in voting.
