jpfalcon09 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Per Bruce MaCleod of Macomb Daily, Bert was the only player not on the ice today during practice, likely because he needs medical clearance from his concussion.
Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Well he has until Thursday to get healthy and medical clearance. It is slightly alarming, but I am sure he will be ready to play come game 1.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 No worries........he'll be in for Game
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Not a big deal. He still has time. And the holiday weekend probably didn't help his chances of getting it done before today. Probably spent time with the fam over getting easy clearance. (crosses fingers)
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Sounds bad, but I'm sure it's just a precautionary thing. They just don't want to give him clearance too early.

Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 When I first read the topic title I thought it was referring to Bertuzzi being insubordinate, I was like great. I'm sure that the reason Bertuzzi wasn't on the ice was because of clearence issues too
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 He can't get cleared until Tue due to medical reason's. No panic guys.

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 (edited) Crazy that he got a concussion from that collision, it didnt look that bad What game were you watching? Besides, they said it was mild, but the collision certainly wasn't anything light. Edited April 9, 2007 by Never Forget Mac #
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Eh i'm not worried at all. Didn't he have a full practice the day after the collision? They even said he looked fine then..I don't even think he knew he had a concussion! lol he'll be fine. What game were you watching? Besides, they said it was mild, but it certainly wasn't anything light. I'm surprised Oz didn't get hurt! You would think he'd get the worst of it. I guess it was his '180 pound ripped body' that saved him.

Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Crazy that he got a concussion from that collision, it didnt look that bad MILD concussion. Which means headaches and possibly blurred vision. Unlike the more commonly known Scott Stevens/Paul Kariya type concussion, trouble coordinating arms and legs, delayed reflexes, as well as headaches, nausea, and vomiting. I suspect that his brain just got a small bruise, not the kind boxers or Lindros has gotten, just a contact bruise, which is enough to make you not want to move around to much for a couple days.
