Guest tangstoiggy Report post Posted April 9, 2007 He played a few minutes last night. Just coming off a sports hernia operation He will make the trip to Detroit, if not to play, then for Locker room leadership and D-Mac is a great leader in the Locker Room
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 I would very suprised if McCarty does play. He is a dinosaur now. Other than bringing leadership, and maybe a fight or two, he really brings nothing to the table.
Barrie 900 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 You can bet Mac will do all he can to get in the series. I hope for entertainment value and because he's one of my all-time favorite Wings, he'll be playing.

He's always been good in the playoffs, and I'm sure he'd have a little extra going for him being up against the Wings.

Is there any room for him on Calgarys roster though? Last night, McCarty was in only in the lineup because the Flames had four guys, including Iginla, resting that game. Besides, most of the rookies, like David Moss for example, have outperformed McCarty in every sense. McCarty missing so much time to injury really didn't help either. Jiggy_12 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2007 (edited) I am so fired up now, can't wait for thursday. paybacks gonna be a *****...GO WINGS! Look for Mac to play if we're down in the series. Playfair, like Sutter, likes to send a message and mix things up when things aren't going great. If the Flames start losing, he'll draw in the lineup in place of Nilson or Godard. I would have to think , If Playfair wants some energy he'd thorw out Mac over Nilson , I've watched him play so much of this season , IMO Hes not taht great defensively for a defensive player .. I can't disagree. The way I see it, McCarty can't be any worse than Nilson. But there is the possibility Nilson turns into the player he was in 2004, if thats the case...no chance he sits. He hasent been 04 good since 04 Plus I just think McCarty brings more to then table then Nilson , Last year Mac was good in the playoffs and he can hit well , something Nilson needs some lessons on

He'll hit for a few games, then stop, then start hitting again. I would almost compare to him Maltby, except he really doesn't agitate or piss people off like Maltby does. Maltby has 6 goals and Nilson only has
