Hartnell claims first victim

I think Cheechoo lost his tooth when he hit the ice. A lot of opinions are being formed on Ron Wilson's bitching in the press, but surely people have heard Wilson's crybaby act enough not to rush to judgement based on what he says.

i would have to agree with you...i never see him hit with the elbow..the elbow was thrown alittle but i never seen it connect..and i don't see a stick going up....i think it was when he hit the ice.

how many here have actually seen the play? If you have seen it, and don't think that Cheechoo ducked and dragged his back leg which led to the knee on knee, then you just can't make a clear judgemental call.

He was obviously going to lay cheechoo out, but to say he went in there looking for an intentional knee on knee hit is stupid.

glad to see that the redwing homers are getting so worked up that they're lumping Hartnell into the useless category. he's a 20-25 goal guy every season. +19 this season. but yeah, I guess he's just another in a long line of Preds worthless goons who has a list of injury victims longer than the great wall of china.

Way to blame the victim Legionairre. Dude, you get more lame by the day. I don't know about you but players don't try to drag a foot behind them to "clip" as you say somebody coming at them full speed from the side. Do you know what clipping is? What Cheechoo did was called skating. You see, one foot goes in front of the other and inevitably one foot drags behind the other until it has its turn to move forward. Its a very basic concept. I'm betting Cheech didn't look and see Hartnell and think, oh, i'll just expose my leg so he can crash into the side of my knee. Yeah, that's how i'll take Hartnell out.

I've said already, I don't think it was intentional on Hartnell's part. Although I heard he also knocked out Cheech's tooth with an elbow to the face on the same play?

Don't lump me in with the people who claim it was 100% intentional because I'm not so sure. But your defense of Hartnell's actions, like claiming Cheech drug a leg to facilitate the hit is so ******* stupid I don't know what else to say about it other than you look pretty pathetic trying to find any straw to grasp at to clear Hartnell's name.

Bottom line, he got the game, the refs felt it was dirty. Hartnell has a history of being involved in questioinable hits. You look like a ****** for trying to blame Cheech.

kind of like you're response to me I suppose.

No, you are a great poster and a great arguer (my word). But sometimes you are wrong, but your team loyalty keeps you from admitting it :D , as does mine from admitting when I am wrong. ;)

Kills penalties.

Name an offensive or defensive upside for Tootoo.

You said Bert did something way worse. But his was unintentional and is his only blemish on his record. Hartnell is another story, and unintentional doesn't come up a whole lot with Hartnell and his injuries.

We have plenty of players that can kill penalties. We dont have any that hit everything that moves, fights and draws as many penalties as Tootoo does.

Also, I'm sure Bert wasnt trying to break his back, but he hit Moore in the head from behind and jumped on his back practically... Much more 'dirty' than even an intentional knee-on-knee.

Doesn't make my points less valid. Just proves you can't handle the truth Tom Cruise. Sticks and stones and yadda yadda. You still can't face the truth. Don't blame Cheechoo for getting hurt. Get real.

Another thing: the puck had been passed a significant amount of time before the hit. I'm not saying people shouldn't hit after a couple of seconds and I don't think there's anything really wrong with it but after a couple of seconds, that hit had better be more of a love-tap than flying in elbows and knees first.

Yeah, who leads the Preds in PIMs? Yeah, I would rather have a guy that kills them, not makes them in abundance. For all the "good" things he does for his team (which by the way cannot be validated as offense or defense apparently) he sure makes a lot of problems for them on the PK.

Both were intents to injure (if it was intentional, as in our theorhetical argument). The outcome shouldn't make them more or less dirty than the other, they are both dirty, especially if Bert's wasn't completely his fault. The 700 pounds that piled on Moore couldn't have helped him any and probably was the cause of the break.

Who cares about Bert? He's not even in this game, or this series for that matter. Let's just bring up all the bad incidents that have ever happened in hockey so your boy doesn't look as bad. The two situations are completely different.

And since you consider Hartnell's actions less "dirty" than Bert's, that makes them acceptable?

So far from Legionairre we have to theories:

1. Cheechoo drug his leg, maybe to "clip" Hartnell and that played a role in his getting hurt

2. It was the ice or Cheech's inability to stay on his feet that knocked out his tooth.

Basically, Hartnell just happened to be on the ice in the same game in the same arena but that's about the extent of the coincidence there.

Next thing you know Hartnell is going to slash somebody and hurt them and Legionairre will be in here blaming the victim's glove company for not making sturdier gloves.

Gord

Im not sure he even admits he was in the building.

I think preds fans see no connection in the amount of injuries piled up against there team by other teams on questionable hits.

The Tootoo was defending himself crowd cant seem to connect dots or see a pattern.

This isnt a one time deal for hartnell or this team.

Its the same lack in logic that makes them think UofTs orange jerseys look cool.

ahh..Legionnaire11 is just passionate about his team. he seems like a pretty cool guy. i think alot of us would defend hartnell if this was Lets go preds and we were all pred fans. this is the playoff time and we all switch to a different mode then in the reg season. we all want to have the best team and definitely don't want to admit our faults in a time like this.

Yeah, Legionairre is usually pretty cool. But for me, it doesn't matter if its a Wings player or a Preds announcer or a Flyers hot dog vendor, if I see some straight up ridiculous bulls***, i'm going to call it bulls***. Especially when it comes from somebody who has proven themselves to be knowledgeable about hockey.

Its one thing to have some homer, retard rah rah his team and see no faults. Its a completely different thing when a usually good poster goes off the deep end due to having his team colored blast shield on.
