Dano33 41 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 (edited) I think the Wings used to have a junior team named after them , maybe the picture is from his time playing for them? yes, there was the junior wings before they became the plymouth whalers i believe. their logo was the same except that it said "jr. wings" across the top of the wing, so i dont think mccarty played for them since its shows he played for belleville in the OHL. arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 i was about to say that, anyone know if he chose 19 becuase he was a stevie fan? I can't confirm that is the exact reason, but I know he loved Steve even before he was with Detroit. He made a comment on an interview about him and the Wings in the 80's. He talked about how Detroit didn't have a good team, but he still went to the game because he knew Stevie would put on a show.
