Anyone got a poem, story, etc. that is Red Wing related that would be cool to share?

I had to create alternate lyrics to a song for a creative writing class last year, and it just so happen to be the playoffs (even though they were short lived). I decided to write alternate lyrics to Toby Keith's Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue. I think that I named it Courtesy of the Detroit Red Wings, and it had a chorus that said...

"Hey Yzerman put your name at the top of his list,

and Brendan Shanahan started shaking his fists.

And the octopus will fly, and it's gonna be hell,

When you see Zetterberg start shooting that puck."

If you listen to the actual song, it's pretty close.

I'll have to try and find the rest of the lyrics. I remember that my teacher thought it was pretty cool.

Anyways, if you have anything... please post it! Support the Wings with your creativity!

GO WINGS! :)

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I watched weak and weary,

Over many hours, wondering why Robert Lang can't score,

As my dad nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a smashing,

As of some one smashing, smashing his goal stick more and more

`'Tis the Kipper,' I muttered, `smashing his goal stick more and more -

As Rober Lang hath finally scored.'

...so i don't know which is worse, the fact that I almost plagurized the entire thing, or the idea that Lang might actually score tonight :P

That one is $$$

I would not know what the spirit of a philosopher might wish more to be than a [Detroit Red Wing].

Did you just come up with that!?! Wow ... make me look stupid. I would never think, 'hmm, how should I support the Red Wings ... I know, I'll dive into classic america literature." Wow, good on you.

I posted this just now in another thread ... but it may be more appropriate here. (so mods can feel free to delate the 2nd one if need be) I noticed a lot of the flames fans had been creative and wondered about us. I accidently stummbled upon this little gem. Not for this years Red Wings, but decent enough.

The real hero is the man who fights even though he's scared. Some get over their fright in a minute, under fire; others take an hour; for some it takes days; but a real man will never let the fear of death overpower his honour, his sense of duty, to his country and to his manhood. - George S. Patton
