Some of you fans are so fickle...

Excellent thread. Right on with everything you said.

You know how much of a headache it is to come on after a Wings loss and see about 10 threads dissing them? I kid you not it got me SO frustrated and I had the biggest headache all night because of it. It's beyond annoying and ridiculous.

I only WISH that every doom and gloom thread would be deleted. It really shows you who are the true fans that stick behind their team no matter what, and who are the fair weather ones. It's really sad. It's even more sad knowing the Wings have actually played pretty darn good on the road except for their special teams, yet most make it seem like they are playing some of the worst hockey they've ever seen. I can understand a little criticism here and there when need me and what the Wings need to do to fix things, but what's said on here is over the top.

Whatever though, we'll just show 'em who's better by sticking with our boys through it all.

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!

That is actually a pretty good idea. Though I don't think Matt or any of the mods will go for it, since this is a place where you come to discuss what's on your mind.

They will be over time... We win they go ape s*** about how awesome the team is

We lose and the flock will follow little bo peep to the next "winning" team.

You just have to wait it out is all.

Wrong. In the first two games they did play puck-possession hockey, but if they met a wall at the blueline they had no problems chipping the puck in and getting it back with one-on-one battles. I even witnessed them dumping the puck in from 120 feet out when they saw a winger flying into the zone.

Also, we were shooting it a lot more and crashing the net giving their dmen fits. We also seemed to chase down loose pucks and engage in more physical confrontations.

In Games 3 and 4, our team was hell bent on only playing puck possession. Sure, we did dump it in here or there, but we shot FAR less and were looking for the pretty play a LOT more.

The Wings in games 1 and 2 looked like a team I hadn't seen since 1997. The team that played in Calgary looked exactly like the teams I've been used to seeing since '03.

For you to say that we didn't win those first two games from being scrappier makes me wonder if we were watching the same game. That's exactly how we won those games. Everyone from Bob MacKenzie to Pierre McGuire, to Bill Clement to Mickey Redmond has said as much. We outworked, outhussled, outhit and out-willed Calgary in those first two.

And you're right, the cliches do come flying out on these boards at this time of year. You have people who are doom-and gloom, you have realists that can actually see what the Wings are doing wrong, or right and then you have the Flower Childs who think all is right in the world and form opinions that make you wonder if they're at home rubbing themselves with Wings paraphanelia instead of actually watching the games.

Even Lidstrom said today in the paper how they didn't play like they did at home and need to get back to that style of play. They need to be more aggressive.

Do the Flames factor into the equation at all, or is it all about the Red Wings. You missed one of my main points entirely: the Flames, for whatever reason, are way better at home. And they still barely beat Detroit in both games. And while Detroit played grittier in games one and two compared to how they played in games three and four (and once again, the Flames had something to do with that), they still weren't grittier than the Flames were in games one and two. Even Hasek admitted that after game one: they may have been tougher and more physical, but we were better. I just think that a lot of people are knee-jerk reacting to two tough, close road games against a good home team.

Really, I doubt it's unique to this website in particular... people are nervous, panicky creatures, right?

Its not unique to this this at all, and I'd never claim it was. The MSU board I'm a member of is prone to meltdowns as well. As is probably ever board devoted to a team.

Perhaps the best demonstration of how ridiculous our fans can be is the fact that there are people starting threads where the essential theme is "we're not out of it yet," "it's not over yet," "we still have a chance," etc. And this isn't a knock on those starting those threads. Those threads exist because there are people who need to hear it. Think about it: the series is TIED and there are people who need it explained to them that we're not out of it yet, we still have a chance. IT'S TWO TO FREAKING TWO! NO F-ING SH*T WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE. Are you kidding me?

:crazy::lol:

People have been saying that given the past 2 games we should expect doubt from some fans.

I don't agree.

Doubt is not what we have seen from these boards. We have seen people basically acting like people on the street corner proclaiming the end of the world.

We have just lost 2 games. But right before that, we won 2 games. That means we are even. So please tell me how that means that our season is over?? Have some faith! I agree Lang looks bad on the ice, but have some faith in Babcock. He works with these same guys every day. He knows them, and how they work together - watching them play does not endow you with the same knowledge

People have been saying that given the way the series has been going, the Wings will lose. I just don't see it that way - Given the way the season has gone, the Wings will win Game 5, the Flames will win Game 6, and the Wings will win Game 7. I mean really think about it. After game 2, any time someone came up on the boards and said "Who will we play next?", or "This series is over!" Everyone up here said, "The series isn't over until one team has 4 wins." Why in the world can you noy apply that to your own worries?

Let the Wings play. Have faith in them. Please!!!
