pucker4fischer 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 One more thought. A question to all of us Detroit fans. Why didn't anyone immeadieatly try to jump Mclennan? I don't care that he is a goalie, someone should have at least tried to get at him. It seemed that there was no real reaction from any of the guys on the ice. And as crazy as Dom is, you'd think he'd be down there to fight, or at least run his mouth a bit. If I am Hasek, I am going to at least verbally defend my teammate. Probably due to the shock factor, line changes and the fact 2 refs and a linesman jumped in immediately and escorted Jamie out.
glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Oh man Ozzie sure as heck would! He's 'ripped' and everyone needs to know that! LOL Ozzie would tackle Jamie, and then flip him over and body slam as if he was a feather.. He could do to Jamie what Bert done to Celine Dion last night. Guest Crymson Report post Posted April 22, 2007 (edited) I think it is just you. Obviously the ref had enough sense to blow the play down before someone got hurt (Iggy was in danger from Dom), otherwise, why would be blow down the play when Calgary had possesion? Detroit never touched the puck, much more the less gained possession. Dom was swinging at Iggy, he just either carpped out, or thought twice. Or maybe he just didn't think he could reach Iggy? ... and he proceeded to call unsportsmanlike conduct for this? Give me a break. Attempting to cause serious injury is not unsportsmanlike conduct.. it is worse and would be a major. Watch the replay. Swing? Does one "swing" the stick while holding it right above the blade? To boot, does one do this when the target is several feet away? Give me a break. Good grief, this sort of drivel is pissing me off. Go pay attention to your backup, who DID slash someone, DELIBERATELY; at Mr. Langkow, who uppercutted someone; and at your "righteous" captain, who seems hell bent on injurious and unsportsmanlike conduct in order to "get his team going" at the end of a long game. Then come back here and talk about it. One final word: you say it's "just us." Well, "just us" then includes everyone here, the sportscasters on Versus, the color commentators on Versus (Hull, Clement and Engblom [sp?]), and indeed all of the players and coaching staff on Calgary, who surely would have said something about it had they believed your story to be true. And, just for the record, I wasn't ragging on you in any way, just stating what I thought, I enjoy conversation, at least when it's not with someone who jumps in half way and decides he knows what's going on lol. pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 (edited) Seriously, im curious. If this whole situation were reversed, and you guys were down in the series and getting killed in game 5, how would you react if your backup came in and acted like McLennan? i'd welcome jimmy howard to the lineup with open arms besides, osgood would not be suspended for a slash, he would be suspended for beating the crap out of kiprusoff if he had the jewels to fight him. (ask Patty Roy about that). Edited April 22, 2007 by pavyaz19
