A guy who walks out of the arena on crutches because he needed tugboats to get across the ice on one leg is not alright. It's quite probable Lebda's season is over.

When Lebda did the low hip check on Langkow late in the game his legs hit the boards hard. THEN he got suckered by Langkow.

Yeh, doesn't sound good. If Quincey does indeed play you would assume he’ll either be paired with Lids or Chelios. But regardless, he won’t see much time, less than 10 no doubt.

I think Quincey will do alright. But he needs to play more physical than what I have seen from him. He will get paired with Chelios no doubt.

I donno if any of you heard Don Cherry last night but he said Lebda didn't even get a concussion, he messed up his knee when he went into the boards. He also said the Wings are saying it's a concussion so maybe Langkow will get suspended. It makes sense to me.

does anyone know if we got an older defensemen in grand rapids that might of had nhl experience ?? i know we got miller whos almost 40 lol , so i was wondering if we had anyone with some nhl experience in the back end , im just worried about quincey and how he will respond to the physical play , so im sure the wings will play mostly the other 5 tonight to try and end the series but im thinking about what lies ahead as well .........losing kronwall and lebda is hugeeee

The only D-men that have been in the NHL are Smith, Norton, and Quincey. Smith is a hard worker, but not signed to a Wings contract ( I believe). Norton is well, Norton. He doesn't look good in the AHL, and shouldn't even be considered. If he can get burned that badly in the AHL, he doesn't stand a chance in the NHL. Remember what he did in the beginning of the year for the wings?

I think that they should just throw Quincey on a pairing with Chelios and call it good. They have played together earlier in the year, and the pairing looks pretty good to me. The wings will score enough goals in the game tonight, that it wont matter.

Edit: WHen I call Smith a hard worker, I mean AHL hard worker. He's without question a depth guy. End of his career, not a NHL'er.

Im glad Don Cherry knows Brett Lebda. ******* man is as big a bigot homer as there is. He hates the Wings, so of course hed make that comment. Calgarys antics at the end of the game were probably just "good old time hockey" to Cherry.

Damn it!!!!!!!! Lebda's been playing great so far. This is a huge blow.

I like Quincey though and don't mind him playing. He did impress me when he was up here for the short time he was. I think pairing him with Chelios would be a good fit.

I do take it that Calder will be scratched again tonight though. Very disappointing, as Samulesson, while he did hit a few guys last night, still doesn't impress me much.

Just a thought, but can the Wings call up Kindl? I know he is untried, but he is a PP specialist and that is where we will be lacking bodies. Even if he only went out on the 2nd PP unit and the other guys rotate, I'd sooner see a guy on the point who plays it regular than keep putting Sammy there and him staying up front. Quincey is a more stay at home guy.
