rwfan007 18 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 eh, that is insignificant because he probably wouldnt have seen anymore ice this series... if the league wanted to send a stern message, something more should have been done.... maybe a couple stiff fines? i wouldnt object to lebda getting a fine as long as langkow and iginla got them too. glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Thats BS he should have had a hell of a lot more than that.
MacAttack25 44 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 I'm hoping for a follow up report saying Langkow is also gone, but I fear this is all that's going to happen.
BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 While I'm glad the NHL is doing something, Iginla and Langkow should be facing punishment as well, especially since losing McLennan really doesn't affect the Flames.

Bob_Essensa 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 "The National Hockey League has delivered a message to the Calgary Flames." Wow, some message.Suspending their sieve backup goalie for 5 games.Like that makes ANY difference to their team.A suspension to Langkow would have at least said something. This is bulls***. mark the red 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 If this means no action is going to be taken on Iginla or Langkow, we should be very upset and dissapointed in the NHl.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Iginla and Langkow shouldve gotten at least 1 game. NHL is afriad to suspend players that are important to there teams.
CAredwingsfan91 28 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 too bad they won't suspend iginla or langkow i know the league won't go that far to suspend those two guys, but its not like mcclennan was ever gonna play another NHL game in his career ever again. Mighty Wings 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 (edited) McLennan only for 5 games? So according to the NHL, what he did is only as bad as what tootoo did??? Edited April 22, 2007 by Mighty Wings
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Well if the CHL won't suspend Langcow and iggy then I think it is only fair Bertuzzi administers his season ending suspension to them!
redwingfan19 293 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 He would have got more if Franzen was injured. Im surprised Langkow is still not suspended, Lebda actually got injured and it was a pretty big cheapshot. BTW, isn't this Lebdas third concussion this year?? he got his first one on the Drake hit, then towards the end of the year he got one (i think), now this latest one i hope he doesn't have soft head syndrome like Lindros becuase the concussions can really put a damper on his career> Get well soon Brett
captainsteviey 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 wow, man, the NHL sure got tough on the Calgary Goons . I'm sure they've learned their lesson. give me a break. ok, we need to score 7 goals quickly tonight, then beat the crap out Lankow and Ignla.
adtthosa 5 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 I love how the headline on TSN reads "League Delivers Message". The only message I'm getting from this is that the NHL isn't ballsy enough to take discipline on a player that could actually make a difference. I don't think anyone is surprised though.
