Viperar 16 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 I'm talking about the thread in general. Just look at some of the people posting in this thread. Their all calling the ESPN analysts a bunch of jackasses just because they didn't pick the Wings. I'm not saying you did, but most of the people in here are. ah ok my bad sir
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 "what else is new".... get outta here, redwings are never the underdogs, you're not using THAT one against the sharks. Always the underdog this season. Next. Not to mention that using that logic Atlanta should have beaten the Rangers. And divisions do make a big difference. I'd much rather play Columbus, Chicago and St.Louis 24 times a year instead of Anaheim, Dallas, and Los Angeles. There will always be a dominant team in each division and weak teams. And in the case of the Pacific and Central, there were 2 dominants. One has to be better than the other. Wings were better than Nashville and the Ducks were better than the Sharks. But they weren't alone beating up lesser opponents all year, they had divisional competition. And don't lump LA in with the Stars and Ducks. It's posts like this that make me impatient for thursday, I can't wait until the Sharks silence your crowd. Sharks still getting no respect and I love it, I have to say though they (sharks) have not really earned it (respect) yet........ They have something to prove and they have a chip on their shoulder, I have to say I've never seen this team so focused and this is their best team they've had in their franchise history. Here's to a hard hitting bone crunching series, hopefully the sharks silence tough guy's like that jackass I quoted. Let the games speak for themselves, only prediction I will make is at some point your crowd WILL be silenced. You won't last long here with that attitude. By the way, I count ZERO facts in your "post" and at least 4 in mine. Here are the facts: 1. Wings and Sharks allowed same number of goals against in reg. season. 2. Sharks had 4 more goals for 3. Wings were beat by San Jose because of penalty trouble 4. Play-offs are tightly called thus far. Next.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 4. Play-offs are tightly called thus far. add: 4a. but one-sided if the other team is Canadian

I'd much rather play Columbus, Chicago and St.Louis 24 times a year instead of Anaheim, Dallas, and Los Angeles. I think Columbus & Chicago are pretty comparable to LA & Pheonix (they actually combined for 9 less points). St. Louis is not as good as Dallas, but I don't think the dropoff is that much. Also, it's not like we had a tough time with the Pacific, going 13-6-1. If you scale that to 32 games, you get 21-10-1, compared to our 22-4-6 record against the Central. That being said, SJ should be favored in this series. Hopefully, we (the Underdog) can win regardless.

HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 Honestly? Who the hell cares. Picks are picks. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. That doesn't make us believe in the Wings any less because of some friggin picks. We know how great our boys are so it doesn't matter who picks who. We'll let the play on the ice determine who's better.

Let me go out on a limb here and say that sometime during the series the guppy bowl will be silent too. Right after the Wings first goal would be my guess. If anything, people here are giving the Guppies too much respect. I think the wings are going to flat out dominate them. wings in

spaMgobLiN 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 (edited) Sorry for coming off that way these are your boards and im just a guest here! If the sharks lose to the wings I will root for them the rest of the way. Although I hope that does not happen hehe. I wish I could be at one of the away games at JLA, I heard that place is a site to see, looks amazing on tv. I have also read that redwings have jiri fischer's stuff in his locker? I know he was having some sort of heart problems, I just think that is so awesome they would do that, seems like the redwings are a tight nit family run orginization, pretty cool. back OT: Those epsn ******'s are dumb if the sharks lose they will be jinxers! SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 I didn’t even have to open the thread to know what probably a fair amount of the responses were….ZOIKIES OH MY GOD ESPN REEKS OF SEWAGE SCUM, THEY DON’T KNOW HOCKEY FROM TIDDLEWINKS! And of course, I am correct on some of those posts. Heaven forbid somebody doesn’t pick the Wings to a series that could go either way with the matchup being fairly even. They are only sports analysts after all. I mean geez, what a bunch of uneducated fartknockers. Seriously, for the millionth time, we get it. ESPN isn’t the greatest with hockey, but they aren’t as bad as some of you in here dramatize. At least they still give it some time and day, even if it isn’t as much as it used to be before the lockout, as opposed to a lot of media outlets which won’t give any time to the league or even take it halfway seriously. Yes, Fischer is still around the team alot, even though he is no longer playing due to said heart condition. He hasn't officially retired, but it's pretty much a given that he will. Let the games speak for themselves, only prediction I will make is at some point your crowd WILL be silenced. Easy chip-on-shoulder. You're taking a non-representative sample and running with it- something the Sharks fans widely criticized us of doing just a few days ago. And since WHEN are the Sharks not getting respect? Have you read any of the analyst predictions? They aren't rosy for ME to read. Exactly. Its like when people get all hissy over those stupid power rankings during the season...WHO CARES!!! Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 Hahaha- says the guy who gets all nitty gritty about fight specifics down the the minors. Somebody needs to follow the everyday life of Darryl Bootland. Though I don't think Lou is much of a Bootland fan to begin with. He prefers Joey Teteranko.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 i dont think its fair to assume my thread was a panic as to the espn analysts picking the sharks, if you actually read my posts, its actually very neutral almost dismissing the espn experts "Dismissing" the experts....that's part of my point, see....."pssshhh, they didn't pick the Wings to win, what do they know?" GiantRobot 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 The Wings had 19 regulation losses and 13 OT losses for a total of 32 losses. Still believe? And the Sharks has 26 regular losses, 5 OT losses. Thats a whopping one less than detroit had, yet 7 more in regulation. And youre talking smack why?
