Calder Injured?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I was watching the end of game 6 again last night and I noticed something.

As the Wings go through the line for the traditional handshake take a look at Calder. He's last in the line up. Everyone else on the Wings shakes hands using their right hand. Calder leaves his right glove on and reaches across his body shaking hands with his left in a very awkward motion.

Got me thinking...

did he miss game 5 due to a hand injury? The Wings may not say anything about it since it is play-off time.

or

was it a subtle way of not shaking the Flames hands due to a lack of respect?

I'll try to get a pic up of him using his left hand.

 What a nice call, him n sammy with broken hands :( I guess we always knew Sammy's were brown with his Chest Rockets

More injured wings? Ever seen what Shark does to an injured bird?

This is gonna be a slaughter...

You're right, who will we go to now??? Oh yeah ... Dats, Z, Lids, Schneider, Bert, Franzen, Cleary ... oh yeah and Hasek's still in goal. We'll be fine ... besides, if Sammy can't shoot that works in our favor <_<

While I appreciate the toughness of playing with broken parts, I wonder how effective Calder can be? He's a great talent and I wish him a healthy recovery.

SJ is deep and they'll absolutley try to exploit Calder's damages.

Injuries test team depth.

They call the playoffs a war of attrition for a reason. I'm sure every team has a few injuries they are fighting through, including the Sharks.

I can't imagine a player being all that effective with a broken hand though.

I just hope Homer can make a speedy recovery.

Read them. Am following them to the letter, unlike some of your fellow Wings fans who like the foul language and personal attacks.

Here's a hint. Disagreeing with you is not a banable offense...

came up in my spellcheck ok...

Well then no better time than the present to retire the old spell checker... It's incorrect.

No results found for banable.

Did you mean bannable (in dictionary) or Anabel (in encyclopedia)?

At least Huddles will now be in! 3 and 0 with him in the lineup

Yeah, because everybody on the Sharks sits around and reads the Detroit newspapers or injury section on TSN. In all seriousness, I doubt anyone on San Jose even knows he's hurt.

Well Calds and Sammy have both been practicing. Maybe nothing really is wrong.

Calder and Samuelsson say their hands aren't broken:

April 26, Detroit News: Calder and Samuelsson both practiced again today and laughed off and dismissed the reports of broken hands for each that started on Toronto radio and made their way on to CBC last night. Ken Holland also said the report is false. It still looks to me like Calder will be the guy skating with Datsyuk and Zetterberg tonight in Game 1.

Devorski and LaRue are the refs tonight. Devorski worked Game 2 of the Calgary series.
