This Shows The Babcock/Lewis Difference...

Let me preface to say that I liked Lewis as a person...but I wasn't a huge fan of his as a coach. But, how would he have done with a team against these Sharks? I'd be shocked if the Wings' hadn't been swept yet. Babcock has instilled a great deal of grit/resolve with this team, while letting the team still employ it's free skating style of hockey. It is just a joy to watch. This Sharks team is TOUGH...and extremely big. But, the Wings' are showing that they aren't scared/intimidated one bit by them. Mike Babcock has to get a great deal of credit for how this series is turning out. Now let's go grab game 5!

I partly agree, but Lewis was put in a bad position from Day 1. After Bowman retired, the Wings either should have hired someone from outside the organization or should have gutted the team and given Lewis a fresh start if he was going to be their man.

Babcock has helped make this team tougher and more accountable. Lewis, on the other hand, is a very good "teaching" coach and would be best suited to a young roster, whether it's in the NHL, AHL, major junior or the NCAA. He would need a hard-ass for an assistant though.
