Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 I'm sure you all saw it. After Cheechoo's goal, someone tossed a dead shark onto the ice in the shark tank. What were your reactions? It seemed a little silly/ironic to toss a dead symbol of your team on the ice...dont ya' think? I guess they dont know the history behind the octopus. Seeing how the game turned out, i doubt we will see that one again. If anyone has any pics - post them, i'd like to see a close up of that thing.

Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) I saw a quick glimps of it, but I thought it was a stuffed animal, not the real thing. To the Shark Wings fan who threw that: fix'd But seriously, if it was a wings fan It would've been GREAT if someone tied a noose to its neck, or a fishing line in its mouth or something. Zetter is Better 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 You know what this means Wings fans..............................MORE OCTOPI! Last home game there were like 3 which was awsome but can you imagine if there were like 5-7 of them, that would be awsome. Go Octopi
Defenseman13 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 I wanna know how the hell that thing even got into the arena, let alone onto the ice. It was huge dude...we've been asking the same of you guys for YEARS. I'd rather stick a dead Shark down my pants than an octopus any day.
bigjob 1 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 dude...we've been asking the same of you guys for YEARS. I'd rather stick a dead Shark down my pants than an octopus any day. The key there is to make sure the Shark is dead
Hito 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 Nah, an octopus is just a little slimey. Anyone ever pet a shark the wrong way? Skin is worse than sandpaper. I'd much rather walk around with the octopus stuck down the leg of my pants then have a shark scraping away my skin as I walk around. Would get painful fairly quick I would think. sean 19 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 where does one obtain a shark? they DRW are going to have to crack down on the octopi or else its going to get silly, and/or lose its meaning.
Spartiate 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 I was watching the game with my wife and she immediately said, "That's tacky. Can't they come up with their own traditions instead of trying to copy ours?"
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 The funny thing is that it's not creative AT ALL. The Octopus has a reason, 8 wins to win the Cup (when the tradition started). And even the inferior one, the Florida Panthers rubber rat, it has some meaning behind it. This however, is dumb and pointless. Yeah, I threw a dead symbol of my team on the ice after cartin git around in my pants. Also, that shark has to way at least 4 times as much as an average octopus. I think I would rather carry the mollusk in my pants.
