If you go over and read the Sharks board they lost the game ,the Wings did'nt win it.The way they talk the Wings did nothing to win,it was just the Sharks made mistakes.I'll say they made a mistake, they took the Red Wings litelly.

The Wings look very good even when they lose to this mighty Sharks team that is supposed to sweep every team they play(I guess)

I like the Sharks and I watched all their games so far,But they are a little big headed about them selves.

Again, I must ask that you do not read the sjsharks.com boards to look for a representation of Sharks fans. It is pure DRAMA over there, by the same group of people. It's like a really exclusive high school clique, but there are a few good people that actually talk hockey and not just worry about who posted what where.

These are just people on the internet, and the percentage of Sharks fans (butts in seats, people that realize that there was hockey before 1991) that actually log onto that site must be 1:20,000.

Don't take it personally.... but we did have that game won, and HORRIBLE positioning by the Sharks lost that game. RIssmiller might be a healthy scratch on Saturday. But aside from life in the NHL, this is an amazing series, and has now become a best of three. Sure the Wings deserve credit... but you are the enemy. This is also the third game in the playoffs that we blew a lead and sat back while the other team came back. Now we go to the Joe... and no Shark fan is looking forward to that.

And to the sjsharks members (which I once was).... don't take this personally either. The first DAY I posted in that forum I posted a picture of myself with Willie O'ree, and talked nothing but hockey. Immediately these people tore me up. Sure, it's an ugly forum... but compare it to this one. People actually talk about hockey, without Ad Hominem in every response. The new moderators (over there) are just old posters who volunteered, and if you read just about ANY thread it inevitably turns into a pissing match with references to sex toys and people's mothers. Nothing has changed, and the Sharks organization should be ashamed. I take that back. The people posting over there should be ashamed. The Sharks organization has better things to do than babysit people on the internet. This is why there are no avatars, sigs, or posting of pictures allowed. Unfortunately, a newspaper went to the forum last year and quoted a few people. So I would hate to think that anyone, including advertisers or other fans would read half the stuff and think that Sharks fans normally act like that. I should bring up that spammers and porn ads were posted out of control, and members had no control over it... that's when the boards got shut down. There was no moderation. Again, there are no job postings for forum moderators in Silicon Valley. Which is too bad, since I've never met nicer people than at the Tank.

Obsessed Sharks Fan rules I might add, and is a true teal fan. I thank him for standing up for me, even if it is to them. Grypho is also amazing, as you have all seen. These are the Sharks fans that I know, and is typical of most fans I've met.

That's the last you'll ever hear me bring that up.

Sorry you won't get that time you spent over there back, either.

It's funny because alot of times wings fans do the same, it's not the other team that beat us, we just lost it for ourselves. Not that I'm agreeing or disagreeing with you, but just making a statement.

The thing that is so frustrating about the Sharks is their uncanny ability to not show up.

Not sure if you guys heard, but there was this "turn around" game midway through the season where the Phoenix Coyotes whooped us something like 8-0. AND it was father's day, so all the dads were there.

After that loss, the owner got on the bus, kicked all the dads off, and gave it to them.

After that, things turned around...sort of. We certainly kicked some butt after that, but for some reason we had problems showing up now and then. One game we would fight or get physical and win, then the next we seemed to forget how to do that. Or worse, go three periods flat without anyone saying "hey, remember how that fight or hit turned the game aroud?"

It reminds me of the scene from Mystery, ALaska where Bebe talks to Tree (or was it Moose) and tells him "you're the big guy! Act like it!"

That is why Sharks fans are a bit bitter.... it is absolutely mind numbing why after sitting on a two goal lead and losing, that history repeats itself. And why we don't kick it up a notch on the physical side.

oh well, lots of hockey left. All is not lost!

While I think yesterday the sharks blew it a few times, they also got a lucky 2nd goal too. So, I mean, yesterday was alot about bounces in my opinion. It's obvious that both teams are so great. I'm amazed SJ finished 5th honestly.

Funny, have you ever been here after a Wings loss? It's the same damn thing. The Wings are not trying, they don't care, they gave the game away, etc. It never has anything to do with the other team simply playing a better game.

I got that loud and clear. The sharks board is no place for me anyway,I m a Red Wing fan and I do like talking hockey.I have not been on any board for quit a while and I am sorry if this is a double thread, forgive my ignorance.

I believe the Wings played a very good game,Lots of enrgy and smart moves.I know that the Sharks made some mistakes last night that helped us win but that goes both ways. What about the first game, both goals came on Red Wing mistakes.I believe it was the third game when Hosek was out of the gaol playing the puck and gave them an easy one.It is'njt only the Sharks giving up mistakes so they need to give our boys some kind of credit for what they do.

Winning is a combination of many things...one of which is needing to capitalize on another teams mistakes. The Wings were able to do that last night and got the win. THANK GOD ! :D

It wasn't a decisive victory or the prettiest we have ever had but who cares how we got it as long as we did? That last goal redirected off the skate of Rissmiller when it was intended for Nabokov's glove side....that was a break and as you always hear players say...sometimes you need the breaks to go your way. Last night they did for the Wings and for that I am one TIRED but HAPPY girl in my office this morning.:)

Let the people say what they want...at the end of the day we got the win and that is all that matters.

You go to any board for any sport for any team and get pretty much the same thing. The fans don't want to give the opposing team much credit. It also doesn't help that seemingly most of the time when someone feels strongly enough about posting something it's usually negative. When angry people vent it's easier to nitpick and point out flaws than to actually give a compliment. Never could quite understand the psychology of that.

I think if any team played like the Sharks did after the first period last night, their fans would be upset and blaming their team for the loss. The wings did play well though, obviously they wanted it more and took advantage of the Sharks prevent playing style after the lead. The reason we keep losing our 2 goal leads is because everytime we get those, the team starts sitting back on the lead and attempts to ONLY prevent other goals being scored on them. I'm sure the other teams have realized this and taken advantage of it. If that's the case then kudos the the wings for not giving up. But that was VERY frustarating to watch.

You beat me to it. That happens enough here, and with any fan base. Its easier to rationalize that your team didn't show up, rather than that the other team was just better.

Exactly.

When the Wings lose, 99% of the posts here are about their problems and lack of effort. Occassionally someone will throw the opponent a bone and admit that it might not have been complete luck that they won. :P

And honestly I'd be extremely pissed losing if the Wings were up 2-0 through 19 minutes of the second period, and up 2-1 through 19 and half minutes of the third period, and still lost.

Respect is overrated. I couldn't care less what the Sharks fans think about the Wings. Honestly, I'd rather have fans taking a critical look at their team's play instead of blaming the refs or making some brilliant comment like "The Red Wings suck." The only thing that counts is that the Wings won, no matter how ugly or late the tying goal was. Only very rarely in the playoffs will you have a game of pure hockey beauty. My main hope is that Langer's goal gets between Nabakov's ears, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I am tired of the Wings getting ZERO respect and credit. Everyone thinks that we don't have a chance, and if we win, it was by fluke... I bet you that when we win the Cup this year that it would still be a fluke. Even the analyists don't give us much credit. PROVE THEM WRONG BOYS!

The GDT was also full of "Oh, series is over!" "Ron Wilson, you're fired!" Etc.

This was pretty much uniform. I saw *ONE* person come into the thread to call the naysayers out on it.

Bah.

lol

I don't mind the Red Devils. I just started getting into soccer and Chelsea has become my adopted team. But that's kinda like saying I just got into baseball and have adopted the Yankees but still kinda like the Red Sox. :P

That game was messed up.

1. both SJ goals should never have happened due to officiating mistakes. The faceoff was illegal and the Sharks had an extra man for the other.

2. that second goal... a knuckler off Lilja's helmet... I mean, come one, that's messed up. (at least Schneid's was a normal, accidental deflection... the Sharks got so many bounces to go their way and the Wings got only one... luckily it's all we needed to win.

3. With all that said, I did feel we outplayed them and we were the better team... but in respect to Sharks fan, come on, they lost the game just as much as we won it. Giving up those goals so late in the periods... not being able to drop it in the empty net... then getting behind the play and letting the laziest guy on the ice go in basically one on one. They lost the game, it was a good thing we never gave up!

It's just one of those cases where fans of both teams have solid arguments.

I don't put much worth in what others are saying about our team. This playoff it's been San Jose, Anaheim, Buffalo, Ottawa ... anyone but us. Think about it - how many years in a row do we hear this team is old, past their prime .. even when we won the last 3 Cups people still talked s***. I could care less. It's all of us and the guys in that locker room that matter. :D

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sitting on a lead after a goal or two early in the game? Pathetic. The only teams who score a goal and then lay back the rest of the damn game are s*** teams scared to open it up. They're doing all they can to keep their heads above water. Without realizing it, maybe Ron Wilson is admitting something by having his squad play that way.
