Copycat items to throw on ice by team

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

With all the copycats out there throwing items on the ice to mimic the Detroit tradition I thought it'd be fun to post items for other teams to throw, if they were to do so.

Nashville - Obviously they've thrown catfish in the past

San Jose - The introduction of the shark last night.

Florida - They did plastic rats a few years ago. I actually didn't know there was a kooky reason for this. Mellanby killed a rat in their locker room with his stick that season. Some how that inspired fans to throw plastic ones on the ice.

OK, not those that haven't done it in the past...I'll fill in the first few. Chime in with your own.

Philadelphia - Cheesesteaks

Boston - crab??

Buffalo - Hot Wings

Washington - Blow up politicians

Calgary - I think they actually threw steaks onto the ice in th past

Colorado - how about their media...get rid of them one and for all

Anaheim - dead ducks...duh!

Los Angeles - botox

Phoenix - golf clubs

New jersey -

Islanders -

Rangers -

Pittsburgh -

Montreal -

Ottawa -

Toronto -

Atlanta -

Carolina -

Tampa Bay -

Chicago -

Columbus -

St Louis -

Edmonton -

Minnesota -

Vancouver -

Dallas -

It was Edmonton that threw Alberta Beef Steaks on the ice against us last year ... me and my brother were talking about this and agreed that the Canucks should throw a Orca

Carolina ought to throw those douchebag cheerleaders out there, piece by piece.

I'd help do that! Cheerleaders and hockey just ugh. It doesn't work. It was insulting when Michigan State had their hockey parade and cheerleaders have never been to a game once and they have their "B" squad in the parade, how insulting and yeah they shouldn't have been there.

Anyways, throwing other things on the ice

Detroit traditionally has thrown octopi on the ice. I remember a commercial by AT&T and they were showing Detroit stuff including the octopi.

I know the Sharks are doing that b/c they are trying to get the fans into it, but it is copycat.

One of my classes for zoology we have dissect things and yeah sharks are the worst to dissect, the smell is terrible!!!

GO WINGS!!!

If NJ had a chance of beating Ottawa, I'd say this is prime Photoshop material.

I fully support cheerleaders for hockey.

They have always been the best puck bunnies.
