Wingsor 2 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 (edited) It already feels great to have paid back Calgary for them beating us in 2004. Iif we play consistent hockey for 60 minutes for 2 more games we can pay back San Jose for beating us in 1994. Anaheim has taken out Vancouver, which means no slanted canadian reffing calls (even though the refs rarely help Ottawa or Montreal). I swear refs are told to make more calls against the more skilled team to unfairly keep the games close, seen it in many series over the last 5 years). Now that Anaheim has won, we have a chance to pay them back for 2003. If the lucky number 7 is on our side, which it seems to be with our 2 miracullous 0-2 comebacks against SJ and the 2OT winner in Calgary, then we will face Anaheim next and defeat them! That would mean NJ would have to emerge from the east so we could beat them for 1995. I could definately see that happening, but I'm hoping it will be an original 6 matchup between Detroit and New York (which are my 1st and second fav teams). Would love to see Shanny and Avery again as well. But if it means we have to meet NJ for luck to be on our side, then lets bring them on pay them back and get another cup. Yes I'm being supersticious, but then again so is almost every hockey player. LETS GO RED WINGS! Edited May 4, 2007 by Wingsor

Wingsor 2 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 (edited) We didn't play the Flames or Devils in 2005. oops meant 1995, my bad, corrected that. so used to typing 200x now you guys have any supersticions or things that point to the wings having luck and destiny on their sides this year? You see any trends that might see us win it all this year? I sometimes think we've been stacked and only luck has made us lose at times (that and work ethic and penalties). For some reason i think luck is on our side this year, and the boys will now pick up their socks, play complete games and run with lady luck Edited May 4, 2007 by Wingsor
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Also, for NJ to move on, they're going to have to win 3 straight. The way they're playing, I don't see it happening.

I havent had time to watch the NJ games, have they been playing very poorly, or is it pretty even and they're just getting bad breaks? superstarsingh 23 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 This dude is confused. I do agree with the Rangers and Wings finals. That would be pleasing. Original 6, the only two teams out of the six who should not be ashamed of themselves.

As a result, they only mustered up a 5-4 victory. - The won game 3, 2-0 and dominated the play for the majority of the game. - Game 4 was tighter but Ottawa still came away with the 3-2 win, and never trailed in the game. In regards to my initial comments, Brodeur has not been himself this round. Sure he's making a good amount of the tough saves, but then he allows a flukey one, in what is starting to seem like at least one a game. It's just not the typical Brodeur. I kinda hope Ottawa wins though, i dont mind them, and i dont like NJ at all!
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Rangers - Detroit would be awesome for fans and the sport. It would bring in all the NY and east coast fans + all the WIngs fans all over the country. Alas, could the Rangers fans take such a devastating Finals loss? :-) It would be great to pay back NJ, but I see Ottowa emerging as quite a force. I think they are hungry as hell. This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Also, for NJ to move on, they're going to have to win 3 straight. The way they're playing, I don't see it happening. Well, I definitely wouldn't say the way that New Jersey is playing as a whole, its more the way that Brodeur is losing games for them. New Jersey isn't playing bad at all. You take away the majority of bad goals that Brodeur has let in I gaurantee this series would be tied. None the less, if the Wings DO make it to the Stanley Cup Finals I would like them to see first, New York. Then probably New Jersey for its re-match. After that is Buffalo cause of everyone saying how they were gonna just walk through everyone. Other than those 3 teams I really dont care to see Ottawa. I want the Canadian teams out of it before the Finals.

Justice was served, so there is no justification for "payback" this year. Calgary, yes, San Jose, no.
