Kira 451 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 So what are the chances we can get all four "experts" on ESPN to pick against the Red Wings again this round? Melrose already has. This coming from a guy who has the audacity to wear a LAVENDER suit! What the hell did he do, audition for "***** Eye for the Straight Guy"???? He looks like a pimp! And this idiot has the balls to call it for Anaheim? No way, pal...Take your purple suit and flamoule yourself.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Hell yeah boys. What a series. I'm so glad we just took out BIGGERYOUNGERFASTER. The Wings were great tonight. I have a lot of things to say but I don't feel like typing them right now. I'm just proud of the team. Just goes to show some San Jose fans that there are more factors than the ones on paper. BRING ON THE DUCKS, BABY! DOES EVERYONE BELIEVE NOW? FIRST ROUND EXIT MY ARSE! WE'RE OFF TO THE WCF! I'll get into the Anaheim series later. What a game! Detroit, despite KEY injuries, looked like the BETTER team!!! One of you said it before, and I'll say it again: Dominik. *******. Hasek. I'm glad to see you finally on board with us go team! datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Sharks are a very talented and very young team so they will be back in the playoffs next year definitely. the sharks are scary and will keep getting better. i think they are positioned well for the near future and will continually be a team to be reckoned with for years to come. Kira 451 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks for your comments and those of the other Wings fans in this thread that said nice things about the Sharks and their fans. Red Wings and their fans on LGW are a class act. Sharks brought it in the first period and were unlucky to be down 2-0 but Wings played a great shutdown defense once they got the lead, and as usual Wilson was unable to adjust when the game didn't go the way he had planned it. I hope he's gone but I hear he has one year left on his contract. Hope the Sharks buy him out or kick him up to Asst. GM or something. Sharks are a very talented and very young team so they will be back in the playoffs next year but they need a new and better coach to get them to the next level. Shouldn't be too hard to find one willing to take on the job. Great game and series Red Wings, Congrats and Good Luck against the Ducks. GO WINGS FOR THE CUP Thank you for the kind words. May I say you guys gave us a hell of a run, and you kept it clean (unklike the last couple games in round 1). You have nothing to be ashamed of out there...you have potential to be a challenger again, and I hope you are. For the most part, your fans were as classy as the team. See ya next season, when I know you'll be gunning for our butts.
Must Kill 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 had to watch the game on the tivo cause of work but what a hell of a game taking the sharks out of it in the first was a huge plus. The tank was damn near silent all night they knew it was done, hasek blanking them made it even better. who would of thought the sharks would of fell apart in this one i thought it would of went down to the last minute, and see the octi on the ice at the end jsut made it that much better. 06TJSport 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Who would of thought before the playoffs started that the Wings would be knocking off Cal & SJ in 6 BOTH games in enemy territory especially at places like the Saddledome and the Shark tank. And only allowing 1 goal in both games.UNREAL! recheck the final score
AtlantaHotWings 982 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Ummm....... sushi good!!! Hungry for duck ala orange, or peking duck This years edition of the Wings seem to have that drive the will to push through vs the last couple of years. I think Nick can ask Dom for a new car after that save!!!
drsingle 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Well done. Now, go beat those Ducks! Just something about Brian Burke I do not like. David
Sgt. Angry 23 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 I do hope that history repeats itself concerning Lidstrom's big save last night. Wasn't it in 1997, against Colorado, that Lidstrom knocked a puck out of mid-air, just before it went in the goal? That one was even more impressive than last nights. Of course, the Wings went on to win the cup. Like I said, I hope history repeats itself.
WingsWingsWings 3 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 I just have one thing to say about last night's game: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! There, I said it! GO WINGS!!!
FinWing 26 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Geez... last night (morning, really) after the game I had the most vivid dream that I was Lidstrom, out on the ice in the waning seconds of the game, stoning Kyle McLaren (has to be that cool visor ) on a 1-on-1 and clearing the puck with my left hand. Then the celebrations began and it felt like we'd just won the Cup! I'm so happy and proud of the team right now, thank you Wings and keep it going! Last time we got this far was 2002 and that was a pretty good year, hopefully the resemblance keeps up!

Marck13 3 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 hELL Yeah! But maaan am I tired now.. got up to see the game which started here at 3 a.m.! Now with 2 n'half hours of sleep just back home after work! AND IT WAS SOO F***IN' WORTH IT!!! For a play like that, any time again... I have this feeling that the Wings could learn against the Flames and the Sharks exactly what's needed to hunt some Ducks: Toughness in a big way and not giving up, even when you're not the first to score!! In fact I think our guys got built up by this two series to a stage, where they're ready to unload an amount of power and force on to the Duckies, which will simply overextend them at the first.. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Just a tad late here but... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heh, I was holding it in all day. Anywho, what a great game last night! Who would have picked Sammy to be the hero? Heh, he played great, just like the rest of the team. Now, bring on the Ducks! Go Wings!
