Petition to Tether Hasek to the Net

Don't get me wrong aside from a few soft goals he has been lights out and is probably due the conn smithe if the wings get there.

But I am starting a petition to tether him to the net so he can't go more than about 6 feet from the net. Maybe one of the bungee cord leashes that some parents have for thier kids or something. In fact he doesn't like the goal stick anyway so maybe we could just take it away.

Hahaha. I was telling my Dad yesterday that Hasek has a small explosive implanted in his heart that is set to go off if he hasn't touched a puck in the past 5 minutes. It's a serious condition, and totally makes his wandering seem reasonable.

Hasek has a few trophies in his cabinet. The guy has been around the block a couple times. Why would you want to change him now? Read the Title and my original post, Good GOALIE, just needs to not play the puck as much he makes bad decisions about that and it caused 1 Goal already almost another last night if not for Lidstrom.

What makes you think I didn't read the title and your original post? I'm not saying that you're saying that he's a bad goalie. I'm saying we should defer to his style of play. It's dangerous, but it's also part of what makes him great. So why try to change him now? He may let in a bad goal from time to time because he wanders, but he may also be deterring goals from time to time by playing the puck aggresively.

I would never ever sign this petition.

This is basicly asking Hasek to change his style. It is a dumb idea. You guys need to learn the sport of hockey before coming up with these stuped idea's.

By playing the puck, he slows down the for checkers and allows more room for the Defensive to make a play. Yes he is not the best puck handling goalie but that doesnt matter. He needs to make better quicker choices with the puck but to tell him to say in net is a really bad idea.

Part of Hasek's style is to get involved in the game, and since the Wings limit the number of shots on him during a game, sometimes going long periods of no shots, he needs to get into the game by playing the puck and controling the tempo.

Dude, I agree with what you say about Hasek. But there's no need to launch a personal assault on the guy who started the thread and those who agree with him. That's childish.

But we don't know how many goals he actually deterred by playing that way. Besides, when he plays like that, it means he's involved, sharp, on the edge, engaged, concentrated. He's at his best that way.

I watch it I play it and have for quite a while now, this was a light hearted thread and some of you need to chill out a bit. I don't think that the NHL would allow a bungee cord attached to the net. Lighten up people he's a good goalie no one is diputing that.

Sorry Everytime I see threads that say Hasek needs to stop playing the puck get me fired up because it is wrong. Anyone that knows Hockey knows that Goalie's should play the puck, granted, Hasek is far from the best at it but he still needs to do it.

I didnt mean to attack anyone, I am just attacking the thread cause I think it is stuped to suggest hasek to change anything about his game. After all he has been the best Goalie in the playoffs this year.

I think that the MVP vote comes down to Hasek and Cleary in the playoffs.

I trust him, I'm glad we have him (he's saved us numerous times), but I won't pretend that I don't have an aneurysm every time he leaves the net to play the puck. Freaking almost kills me every time.

I know what you all are saying about that feeling you get when he leaves the net, my but tightens up every single time I think it's going to lead to some serious problems for me later in life
