Hey Flip-check, any chance you could not use a 254K avatar?

That thing is monsterous.

It won't be forever, promise. I'll get bored of it in a while.

If you want to see monsters, see Offsides' Bertuzzing bombing HiroOzshima. ;)

Just found this on youtube, man what a little punk ass, he clearly runs into Chelios on purpose after dropping an F-bomb after going face first into Hasek's stick.

yeah agreed it was on purpose all the way he did a GREAT job at selling that one, you can tell he knew what he wanted to do.

I saw that too after the first vid.

It was the lamest way of "getting back" at Chelios ever. But not as lame as the fearful "You better tell him!"

HAHAHAHA

I don't want Hudler in there. I'm happy with Lang and Calder playing over him. Hudler get's pushed around to much.

Hey Barrie,

What is our playoff record when Hudler plays?

Did Hudler survive the regular season?

How much has Calder contributed on the score sheet or physically?

I think you make a strong argument, but in this case, it just doesn't fit.

I saw the game late last night (I actually didn't look at the score, which was an amazing feat for me), and I wanted to give some comments, although I won't be scanning the previous pages.

I was one of the few Ducks fans that acknowledged Detroit's great defense before the series, and I really hope all the other Ducks fans saw that in action last night. Detroit played outstanding defense, as the Ducks players had absolutely no room. Every shot was deflected by defenders, and Hasek was incredible.

Nevertheless, it was a very exciting first game! I was impressed by the Ducks coming out strong physically, but they need to watch the power play. I'm definitely looking forward to game two. I'm glad we have Marchant back though, otherwise Detroit would have a very large upper hand on us. I'm also glad we actually scored a goal, as a shutout by Hasek would have been bad news for us!

Perry is a loser and i hope he gets whats comin to him next game. Running into chelios like that was cheap as hell and was a poor way to try and get a penalty drawn. It's a shame that the refs won't do their job out there...

Man, I gotta tell you, Wild Wing, that 5 on 3 you put us into was scary as hell...but we managed to dodge that bullet. I'm so proud of the guys and the way they handled it. Cheli, Nick, Kris, Pasha, Andreas, Henrik...absolutely amazing.

Now, would you please tell Corey Perry that if he thinks he's gonna pick on my guys, he's liable to pay the penalty?

I believe it to be a testament to the Wings "D" when they stop a 2 man advantage, and the rare 4 on 3, which can be a dangerous to the opposing teams. We are going to have to generate some extra tricks to get around your guys. Everyone is so quick to point to Lidstrom and other tested Detroit defenders, but the entire team plays outstanding defense.

Classy post! I really can't believe hockey fans anymore, they've all turned into freakin WHINERS!! Detroit got all the lucky bounces blahblahblah.ISN'T THAT PLAYOFF HOCKEY????? All that matters is the SCORE at the end of the game!!! Anaheim had a 5 on 3 and 7 power play chances to convert and they didn't and their going to say ahhhh man the only reason DETROIT won is because they got "ALL THE LUCKY BOUNCES".And for the record that 2nd goal was already going in without Beauchemin touching it.

Precisely. Lucky/unlucky bounces win hockey games. It's great to finally get some going OUR way.

I'll take any UGLY win over a PRETTY loss.

(not saying the win was particularly ugly, but it was kinda lucky ;) )

See, let this be a lesson to Wings and their fans. Looks like Melrose might be right after all. The Wings have had it easy until now, but this stunning upset by the Ducks win tonight was all due to their size, speed, grit, and it's obvious that their will to win that is simply orders of magnitude beyond anything that the outclassed, outsized Wings could ever hope to conjure or match.

BTW, I couldn't get my network stream working, so I wasn't able to see or hear the game, but many thanks to the my brother-in-law in Anaheim, a Ducks fan who kept me updated with information on the Ducks 7-0 shutout victory in Game 1. With his descriptions I practically saw Pronger's five shorthanded goals, and felt like I was there on the ice myself. My condolences for the 8 Wings that had to be carried off on stretchers.

Oh. One last thing.

moohoohahaha.

Wow, that's cool, I didn't know Barry Melrose was your brother-in-law.

Yeah, I remember thinking at the time, how in the hell is that not interference, Chelios was nowhere near the puck? Check the video and you'll see that Perry clearly took a look before he looked away and pretended not to see Chelios as he ran into him. That's another example of why I hate the Ducks, It you thought Calgary was a cheap shot team, you haven't seen anything yet. I just hope the Wings survive this series with enought left to win the Cup.
