I moved to Buffalo this winter. The Sabres are not in HD on MSG, BUT they just announced how Time Warner Cable has just picked up the Versus HD channel so we can watch the rest of the playoffs in HD.

Well, for the 2nd game in 2 nights, golf has been on in HD instead of the Conference Finals.

Can we get a group *****-letter to Versus? They are just horrible.

Ditto here - I sucked it up and got the HD box tonight. The TV Guide feature advertised the game as being on Versus HD - no go. The prick at Cablesystem told me that Versus website showed the next HD game would be tomorrow - Um, why bother with the TV Guide if I have to go to the website...

THe NHL needs to pull their heads out of their collectively bargained asses and demand a certain TV package - not sell out to the highest network whores.

And reading that link on Versus - obviously the Wings must be a better payday - 2 of our games on the basic Versus HD channel. It's costs extra (where I'm at) to get the INHD channel. What a load - first they go exclusive on the Wings series, then they give more basic subscription HD coverage to the Sabres/Sens. I don't care what Versus offered - this is very unsettling to the FANS NHL.

Two years ago HD barely existed and practically nobody had it in their homes. Now people are acting like spoiled little whiners because Vs. didn't broadcast the game in HD?

Barring a Game 7, for the entire remainder of this series I'll be somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, thousands of miles from land, NOT getting Vs. I'm luckier than many, I still have Internet (if only a 128K connection from a shared satellite) and I can at least come to the computer every so often and check the score. Please spare me the whining that you were forced to watch non-HD coverage of the game.

sorry about your luck RED, but I agee with Zion. I payed good money for my HD tv mostly for hockey (sports), and I pay extra to get these HD channels. So when they advertise the game in HD and its not on, it pisses me off too.

N E-way, tonights game(1) was on MOJO HD, not Vs, here in Toledo, not sure why. I had my DVR set up to record on Vs.(they had golf on), luckily I got off work early enough to catch the last 2 periods live.

Your the one crying. All you have to do is buy a sling box hook it up to your router and tivo or cable box then you can watch the game anywhere you have internet.

All TV was suppossed to be HD by 2002. Hockey is so much better in 16:9 format.

In the Navy? I've been there... check your TV-DTS schedule (if applicable). A lot of times AFN will carry the games. I watched them get swept by Anaheim while deployed in '03.

First off to all those in the armed forces - Thank you for your service.

I'm sorry if it sounds like whining, I DO realize that HD is a luxury - but my qualm is with the preferential treatment the NHL and Vs are providing. 5 of the ECF games are on the Versus HD - the package that I get for no extra premium (aside from the premium for the cable converter box) whereas 2 of the WCF games are on Versus HD. Each series has one game on NBC, which provides a free HD signal. Why the disparity in the Red Wings coverage? The only reason I got te upgraded package is because Versus pulled exclusivity on the WCF games, but not on the ECF games, otherwise I'd watch it in standard def on CBC and be just peachy. But I had to pay to get the games, so since I am paying, I want equal treatment - am I expected to believe that less advertisers want to pay to advertise during the WCF games? Therefore I have to pay even more if I want to receive the sam quality of broadcasts as the ECF series?

That sucks, but shouldn't surprise. I finished my sea tour and am on cushy shore duty in Buffalo, where hockey is everything right now.

But for us cable customers, I have to agree with cadmonkey, there is no excuse for this. The NHL should be working with whoever to put the best quality product out there... and this is just LAZY.

I was lucky that I got home at game time for G1 of the Wings/Ducks game and figured out that it was not on the VS HD channel that I had preset to record to. I set the recording for the G2 Buffalo/Ottawa game and the DVR cut it off via the programming guide so I missed the last 10 minutes of the 3rd and the 2OT play. And yea I noticed that that prior games covered on NBC's HD channel would push out the recording time in order to record the whole game.

Anyone know how long the NHL has a contract with OLN/VS. Coverage would be so much better for most of us if the NHL could get a contract with USA, TNT, or back to ESPN. VS is killing the game in every way.

Our games 2 and 3 are on Versus HD (Buckeye 628) while games 1, 4, 6 and 7 are on INHD/MOJO (Buckeye 654). ECF games 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 are on Versus HD, game 1 on INHD/MOJO and both series game 5 is on NBC. (info from Vs website - link was posted above).

I'm actually surprised Buckeye is carrying these channels, especially since the Wings coverage is relegated to the massage parlor advertising page in the Blade.

Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but this has nothing to do with Versus and everything to do with your cable provider. Contacting Versus is a waste of time, contact your cable provider.
