Manoir 70 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 I just finished watching a local show here in Montreal and the host said that Red Wings fans are extremely smart for not purchasing ridiculously priced playoff tickets. He also mentioned how this may be worrisome for teams such as the Canadiens who also assume that fans will buy tickets no matter what the charge. He applauded the fact that this is a rare case where fans are sending a real message.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 exactly, people can watch for free (well, the cable bill) at home, so why spend 200+ on one ticket. Once management realizes that ridiculous ticket prices stop sellouts, then they should try to lower them a bit. People realize that the Wings tickets are so outrageous when other playoff teams have prices for much cheaper. Even the fans of the storied franchise Red Wings have a limit to what they will spend to watch one game.
Zion 93 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 I don't have the time, and buying playoff tickets would put a serious damper on things, but I'd love to make the 5-hour drive to Detroit and catch a playoff game. Just can't afford it... sure was a great New Year's Eve, though!
