glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Some justice and some balls by the NHL (finally). He's lucky it wasn't two. Glad too see the NHL get off their ass's for once and doing something.
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 This was just. Since Homer wasn't injured, I feel that one game does justice. Now if we can take game 4 while Pronger is out it will be sweet sweet justice.
Jon_G 6 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 wow, honestly I'm surprised. Wings in
cupcrazy 13 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Now here is where Detroit needs to take the boot and press firmly down on Anaheim's neck. I agree, game 4 is a must win,we will deflate the Ducks if we win Thursday!
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 WOW, I am SHOCKED!!!! way to go Colin Campbell!!!
Rice 42 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 If Holmstrom hadn't returned it probably would've been longer. Good for the NHL. The Wings really have to take advantage of this. Good ol' Pronger staying disciplined when his team needs him most!
commadore183 103 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Wow, the NHL actually has a pair! Great to hear they at least suspended him a game. GO WINGS!!!
Guest bullocks Report post Posted May 17, 2007 I don't think one game is enough, but at least he got something! hagahaha, like they'd have the balls for anymore
Vilmer 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 It'll be interesting to hear the sports stations here explaining the actions of their golden boy LOL!
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Exactly what should have happened. Had Homer been out for the rest of the game, it would have been 2. But 1 will be enough
Cruiser008 37 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Well I was hoping for 2-3 games but at least it was something. This is HUGE though, Anaheim just lost their #2 d-man and a guy who logs 30 min. for game 4; we MUST take advantage of his absence. We are a fatigued team so we must try to end this series in 5 or 6 if we hope to have a chance in the finals (if we get there).
Offsides 21 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 It's not enough because of the intent behind it, but I'm glad they did something. NOW LET'S CRUSH THEM 2 straight!
Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 This is awesome. The NHL is so much better than the NBA. Stern, take a look at what happens here. You punish the guy that started the whole thing, you don't punish the victims.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 (edited) Somewhere on a golf course... Jamie McClennan is saying WTF?!!!!!! Hahah McClennan got HOSED!!!! 5 games... well not really since he only really got one game also.... Ah well.... Pronger must have used his teeth a bit to much for colins liking to get the one game.... I would have thought a BJ behind clothed doors was more than enough repayment for the hit last night. FUUFNF 1 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 pronger got what he deserved. hopefully we can take advantage of this and put a strangle hold on the series. if we lose to a prongerless ducks team tomorrow night, we'll be in trouble come sunday.
Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Dear NHL, Good job. Dear Chrissy, Suck it long and suck it hard.
zettermaberg 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 I just hope that his s***bag actions come back to bite him in the ass - in the form of a strong, clean and resounding win by Detroit. Good move, NHL!
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Excellent job NHL! I called it earlier! lol if you don't believe me check my past posts We can't waste game three, we've been given a gift! GO WINGS! No offense, but this wasn't a "gift". Pronger got exactly what he deserved, a game off to think about what he did.
Stevie Y. 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 A just penalty for his actions. I hope to see the news on nhl.com shortly just to assure me this is true.
Edge 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 I'm glad the NHL finally got something right, but his suspension should be longer. This in no way punishes him just his team. When he raised his arm up and put it on the back of Homer's head to smear it across the glass it became intentional and should be treated as such. It's no different then McLennan trying to hit a home run on Franzen. To many times these so called "Stars" of the game get away with just a slap on the wrist. What is that saying for the sport and teaching young players.
Stockholm-wing 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 One Game - That's great news!! I think that Pronger showed (with his ugly hit from behind) how (if he ever goes to prison) he would try to get "something" in the shower. Now let's hope that Homer gets his hattrick in game 4! Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 17, 2007 TSN Breaking news... Good, this has restored my faith in the NHL. What about Rob Niedermayer?
HuntsVegas Baby 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 A lot of folks have been looking for the video of this, I couldn't get it either but here is the article on the event. "Detroit was on the power play when Pronger took a run at Yzerman at the point. Yzerman, who is need of knee surgery himself, lowered his hip into Pronger and making contact just above the knee. "He stepped up at the blue-line and tried to hit me, and I saw him coming," Yzerman said. "I dumped the puck in and was just spinning out the way, trying to get out of the way and falling down. "Unfortunately for Chris, he was coming at me and ran right into my rear end." Unable to put any weight on his right leg, Pronger was forced to remain on the ice until there was a whistle, and he himself brought it about with a cross check on Luc Robitaille after he took a hack at Yzerman. But when the whistle finally blew and the penalty box door opened, Pronger went straight to the dresser room instead of the box. "
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Good, this has restored my faith in the NHL. What about Rob Niedermayer? Prolly just what he got last night... NHL would never take 2 guys out from the same team for the same hit...
