These two teams are dead even!

After the game 4 loss last night, I watched the highlights and took a look at both teams in depth. Lets face facts here, both teams are even. Sure, the analysts here, on TSN, and on ESPN all say the same thing.

"The (insert wings or ducks here) let this game get away from them."

As a hockey player, this series has lived up to its billing so far. Most games are so even that when the puck bounces against you or for you, it sends everyone in a tailspin. Most analysts like to look at the great passing or great goals to determine who had the edge. The point is that puck can bounce your way one game, like it did for the Wings in game 1, and bounce against you like it did for the wings in game 2. In the end, you have to win 4 of 7 games.

When this series started, I didn't think the Wings had the horses to win the series. I am a hockey fan as well as a Wings fan, and having watched the Ducks through the regular season, I just didn't know if the Wings could handle them. I thought the Wings were more resilient though which is why I gave them the edge. Now to be honest, I just don't know. I predict that the winner of this series will get a couple lucky goals to seal their respective games and the series. It won't be the pretty passing play or the pretty goal that wins it. At least that is the way this series is becoming.

I predicted Wings in 6 games, but now I am thinking Wings in 7. To be honest though, if the games keep going the way they are, its a crap shoot on who will win the series. That, my friends, is what we call good hockey.

Agreed, but since I am a Wings fan I want them to win this series. Being selfish, I don't care if they're even or not, I just want the Wings to put them away and move forward.

I hope the Hockeygods are listening.

GO WINGS!!!!!

Okay, I hate to even ask this because some people will think I'm giving up, but I am questioning whether or not the Wings CAN win this series.

I know they have played hard and strong and come back thrughout this entire playoff season, but with the travel and amount of games they've already played, do you really think they have enough gas left in the tank to pull this off?

Like I said before, I pray the Hockeygods are with the Wings!!!!

Hey, just a thought -- we need the voodoo doll to finish off this series.........

VOODOO DOLL

Hey, you never know!!!!

GO WINGS!!!!

I'm not surprized that the ducks won last night. I think after being routed in their own barn and fronger out of the line up they would unite together and bounce back. Now it's our turn. GO WINGS!!

I honestly don't think that fatigue will play into whether we win or lose this series.

I agree. I believe this series will be won off of which way the puck bounces. With both teams wanting to win every game, that is going to be important. Look at game 1 when the Wings were clearly outplayed, but yet the puck bounced their way. Last night, the Wings clearly had more shots on net and better chances, but the Ducks got the bounces they needed to win. I say bounces because one shot goes off of Markov's skate and into the net. Thats just one example.

If the Wings don't advance, they can't really blame themselves like in past playoff defeats thats for sure. They have come to play every night. If they do advance, they will need a little more luck in the finals. As a goalie in close division games or in playoffs, I have lived or died by how that puck has bounced on me at times. I have been truly fortunate to win some games and lucky to win others. When both teams are just that good, you really can't factor in anything else other than luck. :)

I think that all of us Wings fans were content to come out of Anaheim with the split before Game 3. The Wings are about where we wanted them to be at this point in the series. Yeah, we could be up 3-1 but things might have evened up anyway! These two teams are really even. It might well come down to getting the timely bounces, though either of these teams could blow the other one out! We had to take the Avalanche to 7 games on the way to the last cup, don't forget! GO WINGS!
