farmerfran 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 "Each team that wins each year hasn't NOT faced adversity...this is our chance to do that." Wings will win this series... the Colorado pattern is disturbingly similar. GO WINGS!!!!!!
Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Let's face it the Ducks really haven't faced it themselves. We had a hard series against the Flames and Sharks, but we got through it. The Ducks had the Wild and Canucks. Luongo is an excellent goalie but the canucks offense was nowhere when they got to the playoffs. We have a package deal, we have both, we played the harder teams, we will make it to the finals.
Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 (edited) I appreciate the sentiment, and it's the right one for Babs, as the coach, to express, but it kind of makes me "Blah blah blah adversity blah blah blah." You know what makes battling adversity a whole lot easier? SCORING ON ONE OF YOUR 18 5-ON-3s. Sorry, I'm a bit tipsy. But my point stands. corvette80 1 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 he's right but he's the coach, it's basically his duty to not be able to point out the s*** we can like the multiple missed calls that would've ended the game for us and sent us to anaheim up 3-2. we're fans, we watch the whole thing, too. but we have the ability to not have an entire team look to us for leadership, thus we're able to point out the truth. The multiple missed calls your talking about, it dosen't matter, when the wings can't score on them or the freaking 5-3 we keep missing out on. I can't see us coming out of cali with a win, they need to take there golf clubs with them so they can play a round with San Jose.

Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 i don't get it, does playing devil's advocate make the loss easier to handle? Wings need a wakeup call. I just hope Babs' public comments don't mirror the ones he's making behind closed doors.

spydrwebb 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 fiaf - do you mean to tell me that anaheim has done absolutely nothing to have earned the position they find themselves in right now? is that the claim you are making? please clarify. also, is it your contention that the refs are the difference between detroit being ahead or behind in this series? finally, do you seriously believe that beating this drum you refuse to let go of is going to make a difference, or are you simply looking to start your own coo against the officials of the game? SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 i don't see how we can come back from that. Don't watch game 6 then. Heres a link to Lilja, Hasek and Lids post game quotes: http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/ Awesome way of handling the questions, so it seems, by Lilja. Kinda interesting how you can go from game hero to goat that quickly. That being said, even though he really screwed the pooch today, he's been one of Detroit's better defenseman overall this playoffs. His play has made it a lot easier for the Wings, overall, in the postseason.

toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 no i will not, becaue them's the facts dude. i didn't last year but this year i am, when i see it. this is so vague. Them's not the facts dude. What is a fact is that it is your opinion, which is a non-objective opinion. Before you try to argue your opinion is not biased, think about it, it is impossible. When you have a rooting interest in the Wings, you will never be able to be objective in assessing calls going for or against them. My philosophy has always been that you should never, ever blame the refs for a loss, it is just the most gutless thing you can do. There will always be bad calls and they will generally go both ways. Anyway that thinks the refs are against the Wings and call games that way is just plain stupid. In the heat of a game, I'll get pissed off at a call I see as bad, in some cases after I cool down, I see that it was the right call, other times I will still think the call stinks, but even then, refs do not decide the games. Superman54 91 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Good word by Mike, so many people are counting out the wings when the series is still running. I have full faith in the wings to win game 6 and if they don't I still congrat them for playing with their heart. GO WINGS GO!!
