Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 21, 2007 This guy right here is something that the Wings could need. He'd probably get a game misconduct for roughing pretty soon in.

Stevie won't say a word. It's not his job anymore. He'd be overstepping his bounds. Albeit, he might speak with Nick beforehand.
spydrwebb 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Stevie won't say a word. It's not his job anymore. He'd be overstepping his bounds. Albeit, he might speak with Nick beforehand. draper and maltby were both interviewed on detroit sports radio and each one at separate times without conferring with the other had this to say when asked how they will prepare for game 6: "stevie's been our captain for years and his role as vice president doesn't forbid him from being a presence in the locker room. we've been on a mission but some missed opportunities have our backs against the wall. it's a game by game series and we know we have what it takes to win in anaheim, we've already proven that. that goes to show what we can do physically. mentally, i would expect stevie to contribute to our team and help us stay focused on the goal we set out to achieve, and that's winning the stanley cup." i wish i had a link but that's within reason what both of them said. lids will no doubt exercise his role as captain but he hardly ever says anything in the locker room... he'll gladly defer to somebody more appropriate... and who's more fitting than our legendary captain?
