Huh?

I would think of Phillips, Chara, and Ohlund ahead of half the guys you mentioned as top shutdown d-men.

Oh right, forgot about Ohlund and Chara. Phillips isn't quite there yet IMO.

I LOVE IT, all season long hell for the past few years everyone tearing him apart, the very few (myself included ;) ) new what he could and would do, please tell me how many of you are now eating your words.

I'm not eating anything. Our Detroit (metaphorically speaking, not geographically) has long had impatience when it comes to star players going through a dry spell or not living up to their new big buck contract. Fedorov, Shanahan, heck, even Stevie took some criticism. And let's not even go there where goalies are concerned. I always knew Dats had it in him, never a doubt. The only thing I may have, perhaps, worried about was, "does he have the team to back him up?"

We expect SO much from our players, and it's probably because our players have consistently blessed us by playing their arses off-- this year especially.

Remember? We had NO expectations this year. Rebuilding, yada etc.

If next year does not surpass, or even merely live up to this one, I'll probably hate to be here (or any other online Wings forum or newsgroup)(or to read The Freep), because so much spoiled brat-tage will be spewn. :P

But it won't be because we paid Dats too much. ;)

I have always had great faith in Pasha...my faith never weakened, or wavered or faded. I knew he would be fine. He took that playoff no-show monkey off his back and stomped that sucker to a pulp. I am so proud of him. And to win the Lady Byng in the process is not bad either. Say what you want, but the guy deserved it. To play at a high level of skill without being a goon about it isn't always easy to do. I'm sure there were nights he wanted to lay somebody out on the ice, but he didn't do it.

Pasha is a true gentleman in every sense of the word, and I can't wait to see him at camp in September.

Congrats, Pasha...you really have become someone special...

I'd say he shook some playoff demons alright, but he's gotta put up good numbers in next years playoffs too, or else he will go right back to being the no show of years past.

Your Sig is Unbeievable(sp) , I love it ! Dano's beard is sweet.
