Right on about Feds.

I think i'd completely drool over the thought of seeing him play with Hank, and or Pavs on the same line.

I'm sick of the whole washed out reference. Sergei is an excellent player, and while he did have a difficult time with the Ducks, and not such a great start with the Jackets, he's picked up big time in the last season or so and has shown his flashes of Sergei Fedorovness *lol* that we all were in awe over when he was a Wing. I have no doubt in my mind that he'd want to come back here, and that if he did he'd be the same good ol Sergei that made a huge impact on the Wings. What more could ya ask for? Great two way player, PP and PK specialist, great on the POINT *we wouldn't see Sammy there anymore?!* annnnd he can play D if need be.

Bring him back, Kenny!!

PULL THE F-IN TRIGGER.

You know getting back Fedorov at the deadline would not be a bad idea if Filppula is not ready for that #2 centre role. And yes, Fedorov is one of the most complete all around forwards to play the game and he knows the system. The only problem with him now is his $6 mil salary. However come deadline, that is not an issue. Is this the last year of his contract? I seem to recall Sergei having all these player options in his deal.

Sergei has had a problem staying healthy the past 2 seasons. I will also assume he has had a problem staying motivated. I mean playing for a doormat like Columbus? Come on. Can you blame the guy?

I always liked Sergei the hockey player. We don't win any of those 3 Cups without #91 that's for sure. It's a damn shame he is not more appreciated by Wings fans. We got his best years and his best hockey.

Heck lets have some fun. Bring back Kozzie, Mac and Sergei. LOL That would be hilarious.

Hopefully Flip can be the #2 guy but just in case, Sergei can be an option. No pun intended.

Yup, he's a UFA in '08. If my math is correct, he'd have a cap hit of approx $1.335M at the deadline. Edited by Systemfel

Man it's almost too perfect then. Wings get Fedorov back at the deadline and win another Cup. I've always felt Fedorov deserved a better parting with the Red Wings. I think it would be good for the team and the player. I mean I think Flip will be that #2 centre in time, I'm just not sure he will be that guy in year #2.

The Wings will see if he can but if he can't, I can't think of anyone better to come at the deadline and be that guy than #91. I'm not saying it will happen. I'd like to see it happen though. I did not like seeing Fedorov leave even if it was the best move for the Wings at the time.

Now that Hank and Pavel are the main cogs, Fedorov can come in and be the guy who compliments them. At the deadline though when we can afford it.

That'd OWN.

Mainly because if Mac was back with Drapes and Malts , he'd go from dinosaur to checking line all star.

Kozlov and Fedorov when motivated have crazy wheels , there age is no matter as long as there fast and can produce.

You all assume Sergei wants to come back. How do you know he does? With the way the fans treated him, he might not want to.

I really don't want him back personally. As I said before, nostalgia does not win Cups. Filppula is plenty capable of handling the second line center position, as he has proved this season when given decent minutes. And besides that, he is less then half the price of Fedorov. I might as well be in the minority, but I don't want Fedorov back, not at the price he is at now.

When I talked to Sergei he seemed really excited and up on Detroit still. And so far as I know he still has a house here and his family lives here.

I said previously that he might not want to come back. Ryan Smyth might not want to come here either...so everything's speculation.

Nostalgia doesn't win Cups, but Sergei Fedorov does!

I really hope he does want to come here !

And Nostalgia doesnt win cups , it wins fans.

I mean , People loved Kocur , McCarty , Fedorov , Murphy , Brown , Jamie Mccoun in 98. Jeez even Brent Gilchirst. And now we got Lilja and Cleary as guys who are fan favorites.

And other then Gilchrist , I liked all those players !

Also, many people forget that he's close with a lot of the Wings, especially Chelios. Actually, Chelios pretty much said that the day Fedorov becomes a free agent that he would sign with the Wings, and that he loves it here and would be more than happy to come back. I believe him seeing as how they are very good friends.

s***, when offsides and I talk to him last season down in columbus he was more than happy to discuss Detroit. He really acted and talked as if he missed the city and the team.

He knows along with many of us that some fans are complete morons and he doesn't hold that against the city itself. <-- now he didn't say that to us specifically, but anyone can tell that.

Sergei would be more than willing to come back if he was asked. That I have no doubts.

Sergei would bring the added scoring touch we lose after April 9th.

Plus it would break his curse... No Sergei = No Cup!

By the way, Detroit # 1 Fan, who was actually a big fan of Brent Gilchrest? :P

Lil' Ja having fans... that's haha hehe funny.... I mean unless you are talking about the mighty phucks team being his best buds now.... as he pretty much gave away the series breaking goal.

I know I fell for the whole pain train deal too :P

Yeah , that was a strech , He just fit the bill.

I couldve also added Richard Mironov , but I never really liked him either. Did you like Tomas Sandstrom at all Kp ? Man , That guy was the coolest

Its true ! If my photobucket was working , I'd get my picture from last years playoffs , This female fan had an "I Love Lilja" Sign. And up until his cough up in game 5 , the fans loved him.

actually yeah we did talk to him after a few different games (the one we are referring to was down in columbus) and when he was here in detroit offsides did have a link to him via his PR rep... but no she isn't BFF with him or anything.

Not to mention that even though he couldn't come to our wedding, he did hook us up with kickass wedding presents:

Lilja should be loved by Red Wing fans. He came up huge, and improved big time. No way should he be blamed. Shouldn't have even gone to OT to begin with and if not for his goal who knows what would of happened. His giveaway doesn't take away from his great playoffs.

Yeah, it's too bad that me and Sergei aren't BFF though...that would be cool. No, when I talked to him in Columbus. I was actually afraid that he'd hate people from Detroit so I didn't even mention it, but when it came up he was like...super thrilled...I told him we couldn't really go visit him in Cali, so this was much better here. His eyes lit up at the mention of Detroit...I think he still loves it here.

When Fedorov was in Detroit I used to work on his official site, so I used to have a connection, plus our friend of the family was his old PR guy who knew we loved him...ha ha. The cool thing was the Sergei always remembered that I was the person who drew a picture of him to have it signed. He's a really nice guy.

...and it hurts him when the fans boo him...I don't think he gets angry....just confused and hurt (from what I read)

Sandstrom was sweet. He was cool.

My personal favorite will always be Vincent Riendeau though. True Vezina candidate goaltender right there. What a player. :P

Actually though, both Sandstrom and Riendeau were good players at points in their respective careers. Just none of which were with the Wings. ;)

I disagree, I think that Schneider is more important on the PP then Markov is on the back end. I think, if we cant sign Markov too, we should sign Schneider and bring up one of our prospect D-men.

since quincey has devloped i say cut markov and lijla loose and sign staurt

you know none of the pics in the gallery really bothered me except the one of the arenas ice being all melted to nothing, which is pretty much the final reality our season is over

That didn't bother me so much... but it definitely does leave a note of finality about professional players skating at Joe Louis. It hit me today again when I saw a picture of Selanne laughing in practice and thinking -- "That should be our guys."

Pretty self-absorbed, but I'm pretty cool with seeing Teemu in the finals (but not Pronger: if Pronger y'know, dies inexplicably, will that make him ineligible for Cup inscription? Probably not), out of anyone on that squad. It's still a little bitter to know that they're toast and out after watching them go through all this.

 The Pain Train's the man . hopefully he can keep up the good job and be even better next season. :)

As for Feds I think he realises he made a big mistake when he left Detroit and would come back in a heart beat.

I would gladly have him back......... if the money was right of course.

That kinda upset me too . It hit me where it hurts when I actually realised that our season is done. :(
