still don't see anything from that picture that would make it more than 2 minutes for roughing

that hit tha neil was worst then prongers hit on dean cry baby mcammond

neil took almost 5 strides at andy mac and threw his elbow into andys face

thats more then what pronger did only prongers alot stronger then neil

neil took a run at mcdonald and pronger didnt take a run at any he was doing what every defensemen does and attempts to delay the incoming player so the other defensemen can get the puck. yes pronger did get his elbow up a little more then he should have and deserved a penalty no doubt. But a suspension? I dont think so. The Neil hit was worst overall but because mcdonald didnt get hurt. I tihnk the NHL is testing the boundries here, It seems as if a player has to get hurt or miss a few games because of the incident for the other player to suspended. I think that is sending the wrong message. Some things to deserve fines or suspensions even if noone gets hurt. I believe that Alfie should be at least fined for what he did last night. That was probably one of the most pathetic show of unsportmanship i have ever seen! To shoot a puck at an opposing player when time is running out is disrespectful and is intent to injury another player and thats wrong in my book!

still don't see anything from that picture that would make it more than 2 minutes for roughing

watch this video and try and tell me that theres no intent to injury on that play.

He takes almost 6 strides and skating full speed gettign his elbow up into the head of mcdonald!

I guess that isn't Neil's elbow crashing into MacDonald's head.

That's the thing that bugs me about suspensions. Pronger only got suspended because McAmmond was injured. Neil's hit was much worse, but because MacDonald got right back up, nobody says anything about it. The intent should be punished before the result.

Neil obviously wanted to plow over MacDonald and no it was not a clean hit, but what exactly are you guys trying to say? It is worthy of a suspension? Give me a break... 2 minutes for charging or 2 minutes for roughing, take your pick... this IS hockey remember

WWWAAAAAHHHHH!

I agree with you that the league should punish infractions regardless of an injury ocurring or not. But that's all I agree with you on.

You have a point when you say a player is trying to hurt another one when he gets his arms up. You don't have a point when you ***** and Moen (get it) about how many strides he took. Players take strides to get to another player. Sometimes that player is farther away and you have to take more strides. The rules say you should take "x" number and no more. But equating attempt to injure with how many strides Neil took is stupid. Plain stupid. Unless Neil skated from the other side of the ice intentionally to get after Mac and the puck was on the other side of the ice then it'd be applicable to say he went after him. He took a couple extra strides, so what, players do that.

Everyone has their opinion and personally, i'll go with Bob McKenzie. I think he knows his stuff and Bob thinks it was definitely worthy of charging or a rough but not a suspension. The league didn't think it was worth a suspension either. So obviously :D it wasn't worthy of a supsension. Plus, until Neil gets suspended as many times as Chris Pronger for his blatant attempts to hurt people, you don't get to try to even the playing field by pointing out another player's high hit. You simply are not allowed b/c I say so. :P

We're saying that it was every bit as dirty a bit as what Pronger was suspended for doing. It was an elbow to the head. I'd go as far to say Neil's hit was dirtier. He was charging, elbowing, and intending to injure. Pronger wasn't going to hit McAmmond, but Dean went off to the side and Pronger reached out to try and make contact and happened to get him in the face.
