anyone know the exact amount of contracts we got ?

the reason im bringing this up is cause i read that we didnt sign more prospects on june 1st cause of this rule that says a team cant have more then 50 contracts nhl/ahl and prospects combined , so im just curious to know how much space we got left , cause next season we got 6 prospects i believe , who at first glance id sign all of them personally ....from what i saw this is who we have signed if im missing someone please be free to let me know

Bertuzzi , Schnieder,Markov all possibilties.

Then theres one forward spot (Smyth,Hartnell,Kozlov) and yeah , why couldnt we have kept jeff may , We had the room.

kolosov is a big physical d man , pyett is smaller but an offensive defensemen, anton axelsson is a penalty killer like his brother pj, larsson has the potential to be a really good goalie, and dick axelsson is a goal scorer , if it was up to me id sign all 5 next year

pyett and anton axelsson are signed ??? where did you hear that ? on redwingscentral.com it shows they gotta be signed next season ......im pretty sure they might sign all 5 which is why they didnt sign may or stamler ......kolosov is a big big body on the back end and the other 4 sound like all guys they might sign

AHL players would not count towards the cap hit (if they do not end up on teh NHL roster at any point during the year), but they would coutn against the total number of players a team is allowed to have under contract. That said, I haven't heard of only being allowed to sign 50 players to contract. I haven't tried to determine whether that is correct or not, but I haven't heard that before.

From CBA:

Looks like junior age players still playing junior wouldn't count against that limit though. You are also limit to having rights to only 90 players at any given time.
