Johan Ryno or Ritola?

We just signed them for 3 years

They're pretty big guys, especially Ryno, so obviously power forward comes to mind first, but does anyone have any stats on these guys, are they any good? Is there any chance these guys will be wearing winged wheels in the next 2 years is really what I want to know...

it seems they will both be in the training camp this summer, and Jim Nill says they're "two highly skilled young players"

I found these scouting reports on RedWingsCentral.com -

Mattias Ritola -

“Is he one of those guys who shows up at 24 years of age and figures life out and decides he’s going to work hard every night? Or is he just another skilled guy who doesn’t learn to compete and disappears in the wind and plays in Europe the rest of his life?†-- Red Wings assistant general manager Jim Nill (January 2007) ...

The Red Wings love Ritola's offensive skills, but are also frustrated by his inconsistent work ethic. Although his career in Sweden has been underwhelming, the Red Wings plan to take a long look at signing him by the June 1, 2007, deadline, with the belief that he will mature given time.

Johan Ryno -

“I project him as a top two line player. He’s a 6-foot-5 guy with very good hands and hockey sense. He’s got real upside. He’s the guy who has the biggest chance out of Europe to be an impact player in Detroit.†-- Andersson (January 2007) ...

Ryno had an up-and-down rookie year in the Swedish Elite League in 2006-07, but likely showed enough to earn a contract with the Red Wings. Expect him to come to training camp in the fall, though there's a strong possibility he'll return to Sweden in 2007-08 to continue his development. He's an exciting prospect who could develop in the mold of a Michal Handzus.

HTH :D
