And your incessant whining throughout the playoffs was a real huge contributing factor to the site. Once again Matt thanks for having us/other fans on,really great site i can appreciate with overall some real great people. It was an incredible year for My ducks,i watched about 50 games in all this year and went on a ride very similar to 2002-3 but ending in an absolutely magical way. Obviously this was the best ducks team in history and looks poised to compete very hard for the next few years for the prize. With the youth movement in place in Anaheim i beg to differ with those who say they won't be back,because they are simply gonna get better. Perry/Getzlaf 22 years old,Penner 23,Beauchemin 23,Scott and Chris both signed for four more years,sammi and Travis late twenties,Andy Mac late twenties,Kunitz 25. I see some pieces that are in place and signing Giguere is their top priority and more importantly he likes playing in Anaheim. I know how hard it is for a team to repeat so i will stop short of saying that,but anyone who doesn't believe the ducks will be back,must also think Detroit isn't gonna be back. Be bitter,spit venom,have at it,i just watched the greatest Finals of my life and i'm on cloud nine. Adios Detroit!

Yes it sucks. Yes the ducks- or at least the goons on the ducks- rub me the wrong way. But I can get over it.

The best thing about sports and being a fan of a team (as we all are) is that there are the good times to look back on and the good times to look forward to. But if you keep letting your ire get up because a team that you don't like won the cup then you will be disappointed more often than not.

how did we get screwed out of the cup? if ur talking about the call in game 5 with a minute left, that went both ways...they almost got screwed in game 6. bottom line is, anaheim took advantage of their opportunities...we had MORE of them, and couldn't take advantage as well as them.

Game 2 they allow the goal by Rob Niedermayer who pushed Hasek into the goal when the puck crossed the line, if not for that we would have been up 2-0. Game 5 we got screwd in the last minutes simple as that. The refs won that series not the Ducks. The only reason why we couldn't take advantage of our opportunities is because we only had 1 offensive D-man in Lidstrom and we really didn't have a pure goal scorer or a sniper to help out on the PP.

How about game 6 where the Wings didn't show up until the 3rd period? Was that the refs fault too? Or did they screw themselves with their lack of competetive play? Drives me nuts when people blame refs for the outcome. My neighbors are all Ducks fans, and all they did is whine about how the refs were out to get the Ducks all playoff long as well. I think they finally shut their mouths last night.

Ducks are just a one year wonder after this. Next year people will forget who the Ducks are. They're a nobody organization.

Hmm, let's see. Last year the Ducks made the Cup finals. This year they won it. They're gonna have their core back, possibly minus Giguere and Selanne. Giguere won't be a huge loss, Bryzgalov is a good goalie and even won them their first few playoff games this year. When you've got two Norris candidates and a core of young guys like Getzlaf, Penner, and Perry, the Ducks will be a good team again next year.

If I were a Wings fan, I'd be proud of the fact that only the eventual Cup winners were able to stop them. It's better to lose to a winner than a loser. It's why I rooted for Carolina and Tampa Bay when they won: they had to go through my team to do it.

The ducks did NOT deserve it and did NOT earn it. I don't think they played that well at all. The wins and the score are all that matters, but to say this team earned it is far fetched...

Did you watch any of the finals? They totally and completely outplayed the Sens. They wore them down physically with speed and toughness, then finished them off in the third when the Sens were too tired to do anything about it. To say they did not earn the Cup is preposterous. Not even Canadiens fans are this bitter, and they still hate Justin WIlliams for accidentally nearly blinding Koivu.

Whether one contrubutes via donations or knowledge to the forums it's all still a contribution. He's done neither. He's been trolling for a few days, I contributed by advising that he tone down with the personal insults and disagree with the manners of stating his point. I watched the series, recorded it on the DVR. Watched the questionable calls DOZENS of times and I'm still awstruck that the refs even called us on those phantom calls, which in essence, gave the Ducks the cup. First time in NHL out of 25+ years have I ever watched the cup ever so undeserving to a franchise team in history.

It's okay, many of us didn't even watch the series.... in fact the SCF ratings were near an all time low this year.

This is terrible in so many ways.

This is what kills me too. I know there are a few Ducks fans here but they're few and far between. And the proof of their 'loyal' fan base was proven last night when the Honda Center was basically empty an hour after the Cup was hoisted.

I sat and watched all the interviews and by 11:00 there was nobody in the upper bowl. That was 8:00 LA time. That's a joke! People in Detroit or in real hockey markets would have, AND HAVE, partied with the team until they left the ice.

I guess all those Sharks and Kings fans can get off the bandwagon now and go back to rooting for their team in October.

lol on the Ducks shirt. Hold on to yours. My '97 was starting to look real ratty and I was getting worried - and then I got lucky in '02 and got a new one. I believe Pronger DID own up to his mistakes after the second suspension. He admitted that it was the right call. So, how 'bout them apples?
